Okay, so, earlier today, I was playing Halo 3: ODST, and I just finished Uplift Reserve and can't figure out how to get into the Underground Access. So, I went on YouTube, and watched a video.
Anyways, a quarter into the game, they start talking about APB, which is an MMORPG, and started comparing it to WoW and Everquest. They were FPS gamers, not MMORPG players, so their point of view was biased. But still, what they said was quite true; in those MMORPGs, you just stand there, click a button, and it attacks on their own. There's no interactive fighting. You don't actually swing… it's pretty automated.
So, I decided to search up All Points Bulletin. I found out that it's being released for Windows in March 2010, and that it's an urban gang-based MMORPG where you customize your own character, drive over stuff with guns. I guess you can compare it to GTA.
Holy crap.
I want to play it. But I'm afraid that my PC sucks and probably won't be able to hand it at all. QQ.

Click the button in the middle that says "Watch the latest trailer". It looks sexy. I wanna make a Smooth Criminal character if I play. =P
I think I'll talk about ODST now then.
It's different than I hoped it would be. They pretty much took Master Chief and threw him into an ODST suit. These are the differences I noticed:
ODST is shorter
Crouching is deeper
Walking while crouching is not steady
More recoil when shooting
No dual wielding
Less skill required for grenades… You aim at the enemy and throw. It arcs perfectly. You don't need to calculate and look up and throw. >_>
These are the similarities that make no effing sense whatsoever.
You can hold a freaking turret and shoot
You can freaking RIP OFF a turret
You walk as fast as Master Chief
You jump too high for a regular human (WoW style?)
You CANNOT dual wield. Why can't you dual wield if you can do all the above things?
I feel that ODST and their suits are better equiped for combat than Spartans. ODST VISR mode allows you to see in the dark; turning off the VISR means it's practically all black. This scenario is rarely faced in Halo 1, 2 and 3; when it does, you turn on your flashlight. But if Master Chief or another Spartan with standar Mark VI armour were to be thrown into The Rookie's situation, they would need flashlight throughout, and give their position…
ODST is fed information by the Superintendant. Pressing Back will show you maps and objectives. I have no idea of the MJOLNIR armour can do that as well. This is arguable, since the armour may be able to synchronize with the database and use it on "screen", or that Spartans are smart enough to not even need to use it. Or even that MJOLNIR armour gives you NAV points, so it isn't necessary.
Now onto the weapons. Silenced SMG is crap. This is because it's crap. Also, it's crap. The pistol is fun to use, but if you don't use it for its purpose (headshots), it'll run out really quickly. 60 bullets = 60 headshots. 60 bullets = 1 Brute if you fail.
Noob pistol combo is win. Plasma Pistol overcharge, headshot. Brute is on the ground.
Of course, you won't always have a plasma pistol. For example; you have a Covenant Carbine. You need more ammo. Too bad! Pick up a Needler. You need more Needler ammo now. Too bad! Pick up a Plasma Pistol. This one's almost out of battery now. Too bad! Pick up a Covenant Carbine. So as you can see, it's never a good idea to try to keep one standard set throughout the game. As Master Chief, you would just run around, using enemies as portable weapon carriers. In ODST, most people would try to stick with one set since it's easiest and ODST die a lot, but it's pretty hard.
ODST are just Spartans without shields.
QQ.

wasnt this the game you were all schoolgirl over the other day?
Yep
APB looks like a huge, multiplayer GTA IV clone.
I’m signing up anyways.
But yea..thinking about what you said about ODST..they’re just like another kind of soldier for Humans, like Elites to Brutes.
APB doesn’t have GTA’s crap controls though.
