LET US EXPLORE THE LIFE OF BOGDAN.

Bogdan has a ton of sites, domains, and pet projects that he has used the same interface, same layout, same CMS, same hoster – I’m not talking about 4 or 5 including BasilMarket – I’m talking about dozens upon dozens of sites that all cost him money with little to no cost at all because they’re pretty much all hosted on the same plan. Thus, his excuse that it was shut down due to “lack of expected revenue” is quite frankly, disappointing – and a slap in the face. Why? Because he didn’t even come up front and say that, okay, you guys suck, so I’m shutting it down.

Instead, he gave us a half-assed bullshit lie. That’s what he gave us. And that did tick off a lot of people.

Second, I remember reading his first blog, about how MMOTales would be the place where you can blog about anything, your adventures, etc. At first, y’know, as he is with every single project, he develops it, and goes all out. Then, he slacks off, and eventually goes do other stuff. We don’t blame him, admins lose interest. However, the only times after the site was relatively complete was to take negative actions. He IP banned me, then IP banned Guruji for discussing Private Servers as well as making a case against him. Then, when we got frustrated with him not even allowing 5 minutes of his precious time making music on Sony Acid to be spent on the MMOTales community – and after several weeks, if not months of trying to contact him, Mipsacri stated his name on BasilMarket as a way to garner just a fraction of his “o so godly” attention, she was stripped of her moderator status, and placed on a ban as well. Understandable if you go to the extreme side, fair punishment? Maybe, maybe not. However… his name was pretty much public anyway. Google basilmarket or who.is it – the information was there.

Third, I completely understand why Bogdan warned Vusys for his obvious copy of MMOTales. I do.

However, Bogdan coming out raging (again) a few months after VuTales has already formed, completely made out of scratch, and not even close to the “blatant” rip-off of his CMS that he claims, this is similar to the Apple vs. HTC case. Apple, the giant monolithic idiot, decides to file lawsuits against HTC over a few small smartphone (generic) patents, a smaller hardware manufacturer that obviously don’t have the support it needs to fend off Apple. With the help of Google recently, they’re managing, but hell, is it really worth it for Apple? Similarly, is it worth it for Bogdan? How many visitors does this site garner on a weekly basis? Twenty? Thirty? Won’t you spend more funds, if you honestly decide to go so far as to file a DMCA and if it escalates, take it to court with a lawyer?

How much do you think that will take?

How many sites do you think that amount of money could support?

Fact of the matter is, that, yes, we are frustrated, and rightfully so. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that Bogdan should continue to take action against Vusys. It’s just outlandish and childish of him.

That’s the point we’re trying to make. We’re not attacking you, Elaine, or Nass, on a personal basis. We don’t hate you (though we can’t say the same about you to us), but the way that you’re defending him, and the light that you are shining him on, is just frankly, saddening. Both of you were not around for the full story, and the way that it goes, if you don’t know or understand what you’re talking about, might as well shut up and let the other party talk. It makes their lives easier, it makes your lives easier.

And I wouldn’t have to feel obligated and jump into this mess.

Good day.

P.S. On another note, that DMCA system is fucking broken. Someone needs to fix it.

~

Oh, and one last thing I felt that you two should consider.

Content is content, and no matter how bad it is, how worthless it is, it still is content. I remember that first blog I ever wrote, on how someone dropped a Maple Soul Singer in Kerning City, and how I was a level 23 thief at the time and was able to snatch it right before that person’s very eyes, I felt like a king.

I blogged about it, and at the time, it was as if I had gone on an amazing adventure.

In retrospect, that blog looks quite pathetic. I own several accounts that are upwards of level 200, 150, 130, 120, you name the level range, I probably have an account in there. And yet, I still can’t quite forget about the days when picking up a soul singer used to be amazing. Now what are they worth to me? Next to nothing.

But, similarly to a baby picture, it’s that sense of nostalgia that you get when you look back, even two years ago, on the stuff that you wrote. Why do you think we never bothered to save our stuff? We were young, we were naive. We didn’t perhaps want blogs of stuff saved in notepad files that our parents could discover. Yes, mine do screen my computer. Maybe yours don’t, but different parents, different circumstances.

What I’m trying to say is, the fact that you’re implying that either 1) our memories are worthless, 2) we should’ve been more careful, are extremely judgmental and immature. I am not one to judge you either, but, against my best intentions, I have to point out that you two are wrong on many levels. Please be more considerate of the content other people write – it matters to them, even if it doesn’t to you. We’re not prophets either. We can’t look into the future. He gave us no warning, none at all. We had no time to save those fragments of our lives that we recorded.

Sure, the fragments of the fragments are stored away in internet archives, but there are those specific pieces you just might want to read again you know? The way Bogdan acted demonstrated that he had no care for the community, nor did he care the slightest bit about the content. If you don’t care what occurs on your site, why take it down if it didn’t require revenue? Simple – he thought that we were worthless, and to add insult to injury, continue to pursue us with this almost obsession like state of discrimination. We are children, some of us legal adults, but when Bogdan, a 34 year old male barges into a conversation going on between kids, it’s just awkward.

And that’s all I can say right now about this whole thing – it’s just awkward. The fact that you are defending him is awkward. The fact that everyone is pretty much flaming you is awkward. The fact that I’m able to string together paragraphs is just awkward.

Please – just let it go. No need to defend yourselves any further.

This community has weathered enough bad storms already. Let this one breeze by without another incidence.

Nass the only reason i think everyone else was arguing with you because you keep saying:

Nass said: youre like acting as if you wanna remember all your comments and that’s like plain bullshit cuz like you don’t have to.
Blogs are stupid to save cuz it’s only you who wants to remember thme like y would someone else wanna remember your memories LOL

Here’s a scenario for you:

Gujju: Omg I went in th archive and I found this! *shares link with old blog Liyah made*
Everyone: LOL that was forever ago!
Pirkid: Man, I remember one time I went on Scania and we partied in FM.
SnowHamster: rolololol Liyah used to be like hte super popular cheerleader of MMOTales! xD
Dee(numbers): Haha remember when Windia used to have the guild “AppleBomb”?

etc etc. Bringing back one memory brings back a flood. And it’s not just her memories. It’s all of our memories because it is the same place we all went to diligently for years or months in whoever’s cases.

Dude, looking back at what you used to type? It is something that’s great to do. You look back and you go,
“Wow I wrote that?! LOL I sound so much like a noob!!” or
“Dang, me and him were tight like that? Now I don’t even know where he is…man things sure changed.”

Memories are memories. And you want to share them so you wont forget. And the memories of MMOTales are even more special, because you have a whole community that experienced the same thing you did.

I can’t say I remember all that was there or what happened. Heck I can’t even remember what time my class starts half the time. So yeah; if only, if only..

That’s all I gotta say Nass. Forealz, this stuff is just making me feel tired now. I do miss MMOTales. And hte MMOTalers. And even the early VuTales where everyone still was liking everyone (except Zappy…? o-o) and we all liked each other and stuff. I remember you saying, “I wanted to tell you guys about this because” crap i cant direct quote or even half direct cause i forget the exact words. But loosely translated it was about us being people you can trust and that you wanted to tell us about this girl you really really liked. I like to think you knew we cared about you and wanted to help.

what happened man? =(

P.S. plz dont leave

Reve 23 March 2010 Reply

Zappy was just having his ego battered down because he joined in discussions thinking he’s ready when he’s not and feeling very bitter about it. I don’t think we disliked him as a person. At least that’s how I see it.

I’m not about to join in this futile discussion so have fun.

And Nass, please don’t leave. 🙁

Arladerus 23 March 2010 Reply

Nass, this is a community based site; we thrive on discussion. We thrive on sharing. By saying that you dislike the people of VuTales is blatantly saying that you dislike VuTales itself. Like I said before; why are you here? Reve says she hopes you don’t leave Nass, but you don’t seem happy here. Elaine and you are only here to troll and completely derail. Sarcasm? Talking about gum? This isn’t 4chan; it’s not openly welcome.

There are rules to VuTales; laws. Something you may not understand Nass; something you won’t like. It’s best if you and your friend Elaine would just leave.

Heh. I still hate myself for not saving my fanfic. I did save it at times but not the whole thing- then my comp had to be formatted and that guy took down MMOT. I hate people who powertrips like Bogdan/Captain/MrBasil/what’s-his-face do. It’s just not cool in my opinion. Too many people power trip around the world and screw others just for a pinch of self satisfaction.

Nass 23 March 2010 Reply

Well yeah, you guys started up with my girl anyway.

Edit: I stated I don’t trust you guys whatsoever like 4 months ago Dee.
And you don’t even have to link a blog to remember it, you can just say “Hey, remember when so and so did this?”
You act as if no one will remember if you don’t post a link. And that just tells me it’s time to go outside. Which makes me sad because it’s windy and rainy over here.

We only bring up this discussion so hotly because MMOTales was, for many of us, basically a second home on the internet. Where we had a thriving family without a cre in the world. Where people would listen to your issues wholeheartedly, providing you weren’t intentionally trolling, and would even point you in the right direction. Boggy taking it down, for some childish reason, split us up. Hard. We had no warning…blahblahblah realising I’m just repeating what everyone said I’m going to stop right now.
Ok so anyways MMOTales had a special place in our hearts, and the split came out of nowhere making connections with people just disappear. I haven’t talked to people in years now, people who I counted nearly as close as some family, because of the stupid split.
Whatever it is, we don’t like people trolling our MMOTales, after all this was the revival of MMOTales in the first place.
tl;dr Don’t try and troll our MMOT

Nass feels no sympathy…

Frankly, this is what I thought of the MMOTales shutdown.

It’s not just the blogs that were axed in the process, though some were precious memories that many would oft like to remember. It’s also the MMOTales society as a whole that was lost; it’s akin to a traumatic event that fragmented a loving family apart. Sure, you can think of blogs as nothing but “throwaway” things (I find it hard to believe that you value anything with a true passion, for that matter). But it’s kind of hard to reach back and pick out those members of the MMOTales, especially when many of their contacts were severed on the day of the cataclysm. Your obvious argument would be, “Well, you should have gotten their contact information if s/he was that important to you.” But to me, they aren’t. That are not important, yet they are significant. I personally cannot say that people online are important, simply because of wariness. But, we were a community, formal in that we greet each other, acknowledge each other, know each other, yet now know each other, like classmates; I highly doubt that you’d have all of your high school or middle school colleagues’ numbers, emails, or contact information written down or on your email account, it’s not very practical, and if you looked in a yearbook for me, you’d surely not find anything. Yet you knew them, asked them for help (though I’m pretty sure you just beat the heck out of half of them), worked with them at one point or another. When you left, they simply vanish from your life. This was what the MMOTales shutdown was like, only we didn’t want them to vanish. At least, not all of them.

Anyway, I started to ramble. The point is that we weren’t decimated only by material things, a social connection was also lost.

There are some things memories can’t revive. Many of us sympathize that MMOTales is one of them.

Til then, we will sit and read more blogs about his under-achievements written to a bunch of people he does not even like.

Even if they were wrong, you guys are overreacting. Nass’ feelings toward VuTales or MMOTales isn’t making him a worse person. People argue. All the time. If you don’t agree, that’s fine. I also don’t quite get how Arly is flinging around insults implying Elaine is a bitch when Arly isn’t the most personable person I’ve met either. At least they’ve put it behind them and quit trying to cause conflict. (I suppose…Kinda)
