The Paladin stared through his helmet at his foe. The Dark Knight returned the stare, not feeling scared at once. The Paladin raised his broad sword and kite shield, sending a challenge to his opponent. Accepting it, the Dark Knight raised it's claymore. The two entered their battle stances and at once, charged at each other.
The Dark Knight swung it's sword, meeting the Paladin's shield. The Paladin swung his defense and sent the sword flying backwards, making the Dark Knight unsteady. Taking the chance, the Paladin swung his own sword. The Dark Knight took the blow with it's shoulder and at once, started at charge at the Paladin, tackling him. The Paladin quickly propped his shield on his back and used the free hand press against the Dark Knight's chest. He dug his boots into the ground and slowly, began to push back the Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight quickly sheathed it's sword onto it's back and pulled back a fist, making contact with the Paladin's gut. He grunted, feeling the blow hit him hard. Following the jab, the Dark Knight did an uppercut and made contact with the Paladin's chin, making him fly backwards. The Dark Knight reached up and pulled the sword from his back. It lunged forward at it's downed foe. Quickly, the Paladin rolled and the tip of the Dark Knight's sword met the shield, blocking the fatal blow. The Paladin turned, swinging his sword at the Dark Knight's head. It raised it's arm, blocking the blade with it's forearm. It couldn't pull the claymore from the ground, as the Paladin trapped it underneath his weight.
Released the hilt of it's sword, it raised it's free hand and grabbed the blade of the Paladin's broad sword. The other hand did a quick chop on the Paladin's arm. The pain was strong enough for the Paladin to release his grip. Now armed with a sword, the Dark Knight brought it down to the Paladin. The Paladin rolled in time to dodge the attack and in the process, also took the Dark Knight's sword. Getting onto his feet, his left hand took hold of the sword's hilt. The two stared at each other and began to circle. This was how it began, the fight for survival. The fight freedom.
And the fight for power.
