The Zombies Are Coming!

Mabinogi related. /Nass

As of today, NA Mabinogi is having it's Halloween Event. But this event, however, hasn't been used in the other servers so it's a pretty unique concept. Hell, there's even a background story for this event. I'll put it in italics for better understanding.

Something's stirring in the sands of Muyu Desert. To analyze this disturbance, a provisional camp has been set up at Muyu Desert. As the explorers were busy setting up their camp, one of them found a Fomor Flag. They began to analyze the flag when Palala set and Eweca rose. Suddenly, all over the place zombies started to rise out of the sand. The explorers were able to strike down the male zombies with their swords and rained arrows and magic onto the female zombies. They were able to fend off all of the zombies until it hit midnight. Suddenly more zombies dug out of the sand, eventually overwhelming the explorers and defeated them with their mass numbers. The explorers haven't been heard from for days. Eventually one of the explorers was found, telling them of what had happened.

And then that's where we, Milletians, come in. Alexina sent the quest out to everyone, asking for their help to defend the camp and protect the flag. I won't go into the details of why they don't just take the flag somewhere else, but I will provide details for the event.

The Provisional Camp

Here is where it all begins. Make a game plan (or don't) with the other players. At 6:00 PM is when the battle starts. The Zombies will appear at different places around the camp one by one and will charge to the flag. Male Zombies are defeated using Melee attacks while Female Zombies are defeated using Ranged and Magic attacks. Keep it up until it hits 12:00 AM, where things start to heat up. The Zombies all start to appear in huge numbers all around the camp. Work together to survive, or not if you prefer to solo everything. New Zombies are now seen, Kid Zombies and King Zombies.

Kid Zombies are faster than your average adult Zombie so you must kill these first, as they will run to the flag a lot and will start to destroy it. King Zombies are like normal Zombies, except they blow up when you kill them. Dang! When it finally becomes morning at 6:00 AM, the Zombies are gone. Your reward? 100 extra points.

What are points? Well first off, you earn points by killing Zombies. Must be your finish. For every Zombie you kill, you earn 1 point. For successfully defending the camp, you earn 100 points. You can redeem 90 points at Alexina for a Reward Chest containing a random item off a list that is very long and I don't want to name. But be careful, because when it becomes night again, all your points are reset, so you better redeem them as soon as possible.

Points stick to their own channel. For example, say that you earn 120 points in channel 3 and then you change to channel 4. You'll notice that you have no points in channel 4. Go back to channel 3 and you get back your 120 points. Makes sense right?

Now let's say that you and the other adventurers aren't successful. What's the price for failing the mission? You points are kicked down to 0. Wow. All that EXP from deaths, all that durability lost, all that hard work, gone. Now that's just not right. Anywho, the Provisional Camp is destroyed too. It will be rebuilt at 10:00 AM so no need to worry.

But here's something with the points. Even after it's 6:00 AM and most of the Zombies have now despawned, there will still be some stragglers, most likely still attacking the flag. Kill them. Now. If they manage to destroy the flag, even after it's daybreak, you will fail your mission no matter what. This is from personal experience.

Other Information

The bad news: the Flying Star will only be available for a limited time longer in the premium shop. The good news: the new Oak Magic Broom and the Straw Magic Broom are now available…and they’re permanent! Like their more exclusive kin, the Straw and Oak Magic Brooms flitter as quickly as a Shire horse over land. But in the air, the Oak Magic Broom is as speedy as a Pelican while the Straw Magic Broom is just a touch slower. Also like the Flying Star, these two new additions have the sweep function, allowing you to sweep up hidden treasures as you travel through the land. We hope you enjoy these new permanent additions to the premium shop!

Halloween Cards are back in the Premium Shop now, which means creating/rebirthing a character will grant them with premium looks as well as a skeleton costume complete with skeleton shoes.

I got nothing else to say.

You’re not missing anything. This event is incredibly laggy due to players with their animations and the Zombies with their spawning animations and mass numbers.

I wish I knew more about what was going on when I play. i went on a bit ago and had no idea what the hell was happening.

Same thing with Maple, it’s just an overload of information.

You could, I don’t know, message me about something you don’t know? Or something? I’m overloaded with information that comes straight from the wiki.

You’d have to explain EVERYTHING to me past the first town. xD There’s so much stuff in the game that I simply can’t function anymore.
