Tara: Capital of the Kingdom of Aliech
Tara, the capital city of the Aliech Kingdom, is a grand and huge place. Hard to believe that the small Uladh from Open Beta is this humongous continent.
Tara features almost everything Taillteann introduced and everything Emain Macha was made for but more. Despite that fact, not a lot of NPCs seem to wander the streets of this big city.
A Weapon Shop, Healer House, Alchemist Store, Magic Shop, Cathedral, Clothing Shop, Bank, and General Store can be found here, as in most towns. A brand new Auction House is introduced but nothing interesting seems to be put up for auction and only rare stuff is put in the Limited-Time-Only tab.
There's a runway for all to display their clothing and fashion sense. People can sit on chairs and watch! At the square, one can have their painting done by a painter who is always there. Why not get a picture for all your friends to remember?
The Jousting Tournament
Ah, my favorite new feature for the G10 update. Jousting Tournaments are fun little things you can do when you're bored. At the Jousting Arena one can observe jousters jousting against other jousters (/redundancy) either for practice or in the actual tournament itself.
Here's how one can play the game. Simply talk to the NPC located there and select the Jousting Tournament. Practice Rounds are usually the things going on over there. If the player is in a party with a friend, those two can joust against each other. If the player is alone, he can simply pay 10G to joust against an NPC.
Here's how to joust.
W: Strong Thrust. A Strong Attack, dealing almost a quarter damage.
A: Fast Thrust. A Fast Attack, dealing the weakest amount of damage but will usually be the one to finish someone off in case of a tie.
S:High Thrust. A High Attack, dealing slightly more than Fast but less than Strong.
D:Two-Handed Thrust. A Powerful Attack, reducing the opponents health to half.
Here's the system.
A>W>D>S
^–^—^
S>A—A
Basically, A beats both W & D. W beats D which beats S which beats A. Rock, Paper, Scissors-Go!
Both players will have 5 seconds to choose an action before being the game chooses for you. The player cannot use two actions in a row. If one player successfully Counters another player, that player will take no damage. Likewise, if a player is Countered, he will not deal damage to the opponent. If both players use the same action, a Cross Counter occurs and both players will take damage. The goal is to knock the opponent of his horse.
Combos can be seen in Jousting too. Each race has it's own combo exclusive to them.
Humans: After a successful S attack, an A attack will deliver more damage if it connects.
Elves: After a Cross Counter, an A attack will deliver more damage if it connects. The weakest Combo.
Giants: After a successful W attack, a S attack will deliver more damage if it connects. The strongest Combo.
Preliminaries for the Jousting Tournament are held everyday at 7 pm. You have 10 minutes to sign up. Players will face off against more players in hopes of being able to enter the finals, held on Imbolic or Sunday. Participants who enter these tournaments can obtain points to spend on special equipment.
New Skills
What is a new Generation without skills?
Blaze
How to obtain: Talk to Berched about Skills, with Rank C Combat and Magic Mastery, who will initiated a somewhat lengthy quest.
How to use it: Have a Wand equipped. Combat Wands will provide more power though. A lot more power.
Proper use: Make an enemy flinch before actually using the skill, since it requires the player to be close.
What it does: It send the enemy flying! Then, the explodes dealing more damage and splash! It's AWESOME!!!
Metal Extraction
How to obtain: Talk to Heledd to receive a quest. You must do a G9 quest first. She'll give you a Shadow Mission. Solo only.
How to use it: I don't know actually, didn't get it yet. All I know is that you have to land the spinner on the panel that flashed green
What it does: Turns Metal Ingots and Plates into base metals and sometimes precious gems.
Rain Casting
How to obtain: Do the Rain Casting quest for G10.
How to use it: Simply use the skill with a Cylinder and Rain Cloud Crystals.
What it does: A Rain Cloud appears and it rains. Production Rates are increased, you water your Farm Crops, and Water Cannon is power up. Yeah.
Tara Shadow Realm & Missions
No need to explain what these are. But basically, you do missions in Tara's Shadow Realm and areas around it.
G10 Mainstream
I love this. I really do.
Spoilers ahoy!
G10 this time, involves the appearance of the third of the Three Goddesses. She is the Goddess of Light and Her appearance revolves around that. She has dark skin, black hair, black clothes, black wings, and dark eyes. Everything a Goddess of Light is.
The Milletian is summoned by Padan, Tara's Commander for the Shadow Realm. He gives you a mission to rescue the Imprisoned Soldier from the Fomors. No big deal right? When the Milletian enters though, he sees the Prison Ghosts of Metus! Why are they there? He ignores (or fights) them and attacks the guards guarding the Soldier. After the Milletian rescues the Soldier, he learns that the body of Cai has been seen in the Shadow Realm and has killed Soldiers of the Army. The one the Milletian rescued was the only survivor and watched the slaughter of his friends. How sad.
Return to Padan and the Milletian receives Leymore's Journal, detailing what he did after Cai's apparent death and G9. The Milletian goes to Taillteann's Stonehenge and views Leymore's memory. He goes to Elatha and speaks to him about Cai and the Caliburn, the source of all Alchemy. Elatha speaks of how humans are so naive and search for fate in their short lives and that the Caliburn had turn Cai into something more than human. What could he mean?
Andras has summoned the Milletian and speaks to him about the relation between Elatha and herself. She gives you a music box she has been working on and says how that music box will help keep Elatha from losing his Light and sinking into the Dark. She then directs the Milletian to speak to Elatha in the Shadow Realm. There, Elatha tells him how the events of Chapter 2 and G9 are connected, and what Cichol has said about Neamhain and sends him off to collect info from the Tara citizens.

Demigod: Awakening of Light
A new transformation has been introduced and it will not replace any of the old ones! The Demigod transformation is an epic thing, granting the power of a deity, temporarily of course.
All of G10 Demigod skills are obtain by completing G10.
Awakening of Light
What it does: Transforms the player into a Demigod using Neamhain's power. Shrouded in a white aura and given aura wings.
Specific into: It grants the player +50% speed, Arat Berry effects, automatic Exploration, chance to avoid flinching, and regeneration effects. Also you can use Spear of Light and Fury of Light.
Cons: It uses some of the skill's exp. Don't get careless now.
Spear of Light
What it does: Fires a large spear of light to slice through multiple enemies until it hits the target.
Cons: 10 seconds cool down and some of the skill's exp.
Spear of Light
What it does: After like a five second charge up, a bombardment of light energy attacks nearby enemies for a short period of time.
Cons: The charge up is pretty long and you're vulnerable. Also the skill exp is eaten.
Tara's Festival
This event is here for two weeks as of yesterday. There are only two different games to play and both give their own rewards. To play these games, be in a party of at least 4 people and talk to the attendants. There may be lines though, so get there early.
The Hammer Game involves the player and pals having to hit the board and send the star flying. There is a charge bar where the player has to carefully click to determine how much power the player has. At max, there's a chance that the player will hit the bell and receive 5 prize boxes. Maybe you can even be the top 5 powerful players. It may or may not depend on your Strength. Winner gets a box. This may give the Yukata(M).
The Dart Game involves the player and pals to throw darts at the board. The darts will wiggle like crazy, so aim carefully and take account for the wind. The Target Score displays how much points you can earn, pass it and you're disqualified. Winner gets a box. This may give the Yukata(F).
Okay, I'm done with this blog. I have also finished G10 so expect videos soon and a new blog.

You still play this?

Just cause the combat is difficult at first doesn’t mean its hard forever.
I also like how I don’t need to grind constantly. Variety of things to do, y’know?
Sounds interesting, but I never completed G1.
It is possible to start Chapter 2 and 3 without finishing Chapter 1. Likewise, it is possible to start Chapter 3 without doing Chapter 2.
Chapter 1: G1, G2, G3
Chapter 2: G4, G5, G6, G7, G8
Chapter 3: G9, G10, G11, G12
Demigod is awesome and much better than Paladin. Seriously.
Also, don’t worry. The Quests will be modified to fit your total level, being noob friendly too.

Well yea, you can’t even grind in this game. So it’s kinda forcing you to do something else

Well you could grind, but that’s incredibly ineffective except for AP.
Shit, man.
I still remember buying a knife to shear sheep. And then killing wolfs that were eating my sheepies. D:
How much has changed? xD

With that Camping EXP loss shit or whatever.
Never past level 19 because if that.
Part time jobs ftw

Dungeons & Shadow Missions are great for training. The only reason I could think of for people to actually train outside of dungeons is for Skill Exp.

A lot of things! Maps are now 4x larger than what they were used to be so having a mount helps heaps to move around. Weapons have gotten better too, with more variety. Same goes with clothing. The Economy is hell though. 200k for dyes just to change your clothes? Hell.
Like noone hardly does PTJs anymore, except for the Church ones where a stack of 10 Holy Waters can go for 12k. Outrageous.
I have no regrets about playing Mabinogi. Probably my favorite MMORPG that my computer can handle.
Never finished G1 though. Pretty embarrassing, but true.
Whut. I still play Maplestory. ._.
