So Sunday was a pretty good day for my Mabinogi and by far the most interesting. There's a lot to write about and it's basically just me doing game stuff.
So it all started in Iria…
Vales
I entered Quilla as usual, due to it being the place where Humans who teleport from Uladh appeared. I went through the Mana Tunnel to Vales to finish a quest which involved having me talk to Krug about allowing his younger sister to appear in a ridiculous Honey Drink commercial. Again. He spat on the very idea of having the royal Giant family's name be made ridiculous. Again. I finished the quest and received another one from Krug's wife, Kirine. She heard of my plight and gave me the idea to help deliver a letter to Courcle for Krug, who had lost sleep due to not knowing how to go about sending the letter. She knew of my connection to the chief of Courcle, Kousai, and thought it might help get the princess to be able to do the commercial. Which is ridiculous. So I talked to Krug, got the letter, and delivered it to Kousai. I then went back and told Krug of the good news.
I then reminded Krug about the possibility of having the princess do the commercial, and Krug too has decided to end this matter. But he wants to know if there was a possibility of having his input for the commercial, making sure it's not too ridiculous. Not knowing what to do, I checked my quest log. I had to deliver the product of the commercial, a Honey Drink.
…Great.
I decided to get the drink later and went to Maiz Prairie in Rano to continue G8.
Animal Training
Oh my goodness I hate this so much. Animal Training basically consisted me, with a Horned Aardvark, trying to tame it for training of this darn useless skill. Oh well. So I had a pet weakened it to low health before throwing 1-20 Taming Baits at it. Somewhere along the 17th bait the thing buckled down and became my pet. Much harder than using the Dark Knight's Control of Darkness.
So I got 4 Skill Exp for it, but that just brought me up to a 96.00. I had to tame one more before actually being able to advance the skill. Boring. After whittling down another Horned Aardvark's HP with a pet, I threw about 10-30 Taming Baits at it and then it buckled down. FINALLY. After using 3 AP to advance the skill, I had to wait until the Mana Tunnel reopens at 6 am. And it was only 10 pm.
When the gate finally opened, I transported myself all the way to Zardine at the Pera Volcano Mana Tunnel so I can proceed to tame Volcano Horned Wild Boars. Sure, the Raspa Volcano Mana Tunnel was also available but I didn't want to cross the bridge of Balrogs to get to them. After the aforementioned pet weakening the animal technique, I threw 15-40 baits at it. I finally got it tamed which means I finally got this part of the quest finished and Animal Taming is way behind me now!
Balloons and Wyverns
Belita, the NPC who gave me the quest, then asked me to hunt 30 Stars worth of Wyverns. Wyverns are annoying enemies who can only be fought in the sky and therefore warriors are probably lest effective to have in a team of Wyvern Hunters. They basically do Fly-bys so getting an accurate hit on them is difficult. Good thing I knew magic and Alchemy!
To get started, I joined this dude's party with another guy. Both were archers so it helped pretty good. I had decided to use Ballistae Cannons for hunting but stupid me, I had both of my hands full and no room in my inventory to unequip my Dustin Silver Knight Sword or Oblivion. Also pets can't be summoned in the Balloons. Needless to say, I was only able to add support fire using magic. We had killed enough for two stars.
Then my client lagged and had to be closed. Crap.
After logging back in and heading back to the Calida Lake camp (it wasn't too far and my Black Unicorn Ricecracker was able to get me back there in half a minute) and bought more potions. This time, I made sure I had some of my hands free. I joined the party with the very same guy but sadly we used a cheaper, two man balloon. It's sad because it had no Ballistae cannons for me to use and it's so gosh darn small. It's so small, that I had to turn the camera to Bird's Eye View to actually be able to move. I hate small balloons. We had killed a decent amount of Wyverns before the balloon started to crash due to lack of fuel. I tried to get this title for refueling the balloon before it crashes but I guess I waited too long and it crashed. Yep.
Afterwards the other guy joined the party again and we went flying to kill more Wyverns on, thankfully, a bigger balloon, allowing me to use the Ballistae Cannons and deal impressive amounts of damage.
Apparently the leader of the party was also finishing up the quest and helped me kill a few more before the balloon crashed. Afterwards I opened up my own party to recruit people to kill the Wyverns. This new team consisted of moi, the other guy who I will call Male Elf #1, another elf who I will call Male Elf#2, another elf who is younger and shorter who I will call Young Elf, and a Giant. The three Elves were the main damage dealers of the group whereas the Giant and I used our own methods of fighting- the Giant on Ballistae and me alternating between Firebolt and Ballistae.
We were flown into a swarm of Wyverns, about three or four were attacking us. The Giant and I both mounted Ballistae, but I kept switching between two as to have a larger range of attack. To add a bit more damage, Male Elf 1 and Young Elf transformed into Falcon Justices. We were able to fight them off, but more kept attacking. Young Elf ran out of arrows to fire, leaving her unable to fight efficiently. I left the cannon to grab the wheel and flew us out of the swarm, letting us catch out breath a little, though the ones attacking still came after us. Our balloon then became too damage and it crashed.
I repeated this four times, though I was done with the quest after the first repeat run. I then watched the net G8 Story Cutscene which is described below.
lolstorycutscenenospoiler4juCrumena is definitly evil. He's a red dragon.
Fossils, Rubies, Honey Drink Light
After the cutscene, the next quest told me to talk to Belita. I was told to go bring a Mostly Restored Fossil to her. Jumping on my trusty steed Prairie the Shire, I rode into a Mana Tunnel and exited out of the Raspa Volcano Mana Tunnel and rode into the Sulfur Pits. I can't remember if I explained the pits before, but basically the Sulfur Pits is where you go to mine Sulfur Ores and Fossils.
I mined four Fossils and seven Sulfur Ores. Four Fossils because I wanted to see if I might be lucky enough to get a Lava Cat Robe (which sells for 1.5mil on average) and I still needed a Mostly Restored Fossils. The Fossils consisted of a Tooth, Skull, Pelvis, and Claw which were Mostly, Somewhat, Barely, and Mostly restored, respectively. I did not get a Lava Cat Robe but I still finished the quest objective nonetheless. She (Belita) then says as she extracts Irinid's Essence, I had to bring a container to hold said essence. Apparently, a ruby will make a great container.
lol, dont she know that rubies cost like 30k an findin 1 is extremly hard? /outofcharactermoment
Nevertheless, I head to Uladh and Dunbarton to search for a Ruby which will cost a boatloads of cash. At some guys house he was selling a Ruby for 20k which I happily bought. Such nice people these days.
While I was here in Uladh, I decided to go to Tara and buy a Honey Drink to finish another quest I had for the King of Giants, Krug. I then teleported back to Iria. I delivered the drink to Krug. He absolutely loved the drink and goes as far as willing to do the commercial himself. Time to bring the good news to Lileas (the one who wanted to shoot the commercial for the Honey Drink). But later!
I ran a Pars Ruins because I needed a Snow Crystal. A Snow Crystal though, is a rare drop. It might take me several days and several runs before I can ever possibly hope to get one! Oh hey, here it is after my first run. Well then I don't need to bore you at all.
I went to Zardine and gave the Ruby to Belita. She told then gave me the Crystallized Irinid's Essence and told me to Handicraft it with 7 Sulfur Ores and a Ballistae Bolt. Boom, got the key item. G8 Cutscene!
noscene4juCrumena you asshole.
Oh. Oh crap.
Well that wasn't too good was it? Legatus, the giant blue dragon of Calida Lake summoned me to see him. He tells me that he knew what happened and not to worry. How can I not worry? I accidently helped kill Cromm Cruiach and possibly Ruairi!
He told me the Gold Dragon's Conductor is possibly still alive, shielded by protection magic. He told me to get a Snow Crystal to reach the Gold Dragon's Conductor. If you found these secrets, you'd know I've already got it covered.
After finally grabbing a Snow Crystal, I made my way to Raspa Volcano to find the Dragon's Conductor.
G8Cutscenenospoiler4uHi Ruairi! I look just like you!
The Finale!
I returned to Belita who wanted to know all the information to see if she can somehow help. Cue Psychic Dreams For Everyone! I left to speak to Legatus who brought me to Renes Island to stop Crumena, our antagonist, from conducting the Ceremony. I left Renes to properly make a party, seeing as this guy is kinda tough.
One of my friends, Killomatic, who finished G8 decided to help and got three of his friends to assist too. Another one of my friends, Mudkipz, helped too because he wanted to see how the boss is like. The last two slots were filled in by two different people, a girl who presumably finished everything and a guy who also needed to finish G8. Boss time!
nocutsceneinfosryWatch Crumena, Taunes will ride in here and kick your ass!
So yeah. Eight of us versus the Red Dragon Crumena. This is gonna be something. 50,000 HP worth of something.
So we all charged at him, attacking the legs and tail to ensure it won't do anything tricky. After a short amount of time attacking, Crumena started to fly up, signaling it's Meteor Attack. We all either ran away or summoned our mounts and run away. I got caught in the blast and needed to be revived.Damn you Crumena!
It took flight AGAIN and did it's Meteor Attack, luckily I was well out of reach. Two people activated their Demigod to get a little boost. Unfortunately, a little while later the random girl left and now we only had 7 people. Crumena took flight once more but this time, used it's Rain of Thunder Attack. A lot of us were caught in the blast, including the Demigod. We had to be revived. Another Rain of Thunder and more of us died. Then it did it again. What's with this guy and Rain of Thunder?
Killomatic activated Demigod and started to use the Spear of Light and Fury of Light, in hope to finish it. We were nearly finished. In a last ditch attempt to win, Crumena took flight and used Meteor Storm. We were well out of range. It died and we won! Cue cutscene!
No.I dced.
Epilogue
Afterwards I got the Dragon Knight title, thanked everyone, and left for Taillteann to learn Frozen Blast. Killomatic called me and wanted to know if I wanted to if I wanted to run Alby Intermediate for 2. I agreed since I would also be going to Sidhe Sneachta to get Snowballs for the Blizzard Crystals. Not going to bore you with the details, basically we killed everything and I didn't die. Cause I'm skilled like that. I then went to the Snowman's Tomb and harvested about 70 snowballs. I learned Frozen Blast and proceeded to make Blizzard Crystals. Basically that's it.
TODAY
I finally went to turn in that quest for the Honey Drink. The commercial was…ridiculous.
Several Giants are just chilling out and having a great time in the Hot Springs of Zardine. Suddenly! A Red Dragon flies down and prepares to attack. But wait! Here comes Krug! He opens up his inventory and consumes a bottle of the Honey Drink. He grows in size. He consumes the rest of the row of Honey Drinks! He grows bigger. He consumes the entire bag of Honey Drinks. He grows to be bigger than the Red Dragon. He then kills the Dragon in one shot. Cheers come from the Giants, Kirine, Lileas, me (though I wish I didn't), and two Yetis who appear to be there for no reason whatsoever. Cue Krug saying… "This is the power of…" Cue shot of Lileas trying to look sexy with the words Honey Drink Light.
Yeah. Ridiculous.
Hey! I finally leased a field to grow some crops for money. I'm growing Eggplants which will yield me at least 168k.
Yep, just finishing things up.
Oh, there are about 10 secrets text hidden here. Happy hunting!
