Ready!

OK, I've been trying to write a blog about this game yesterday but I didn't cause I was watching Let's Plays, OK! Time to blog!

Two days ago I've downloaded Eversion and it was GREAT! Everything is all happy with happy critters and happy flowers and happy happiness! The game's basic plot is you have to rescue the Princess Nehema from big bad people! Go save the day! Basically it's your basic platformer!

You play as Zee-Tee who is a flower an asterisk who is orange, has two eyes that are connected, no visible mouth, and two feet. Basically a head on legs! How fun! Zee-Tee has this unique power to warp reality by using these Evert Points! Zee-Tee warps himself to a world different than his and finds it really interesting!

The game consists of 7 Worlds and each world has a few things in common:

The main enemy are Goombas not-Goombas that are all happy like everything!
There are happy face blocks that, when hit, provide a Gem for you to collect! They vary in colors!
You need to make jumps!
There are Gems to collect!
There are always Evert Points!
Flowers, trees, clouds, and rocks!
A flag at the end of every level!

With this Zee-Tee will save the day and Nehema! Weeee!!!!!

As I said before, each world has a set amount of Gems to collect, totaling to 240 Gems! If you don't collect all the Gems, when Zee-Tee finds Nehema, she is a fake! NOOOOOOOOooooooo……!!!! But if you have all the Gems, you get to enter the castle and into World 8! Clearing this last world means Nehema is saved and the two live happily ever after! Look! A heart in the background!

But wait! Spoilers!

I lied. This game is not happy. Well, it is happy at the start. But then somethings…happened… As Zee-Tee everts the world, it turns from happy to neutral to… this place that is scary as hell. I'll run it down with you like this.

Layer 1: The happy layer. Everything is happy, the music is happy, everything is fine.
Layer 2: The calm layer. Everything is still happy, though the flowers are slightly down and the sky seems kinda sad. But nothing is wrong with it.
Layer 3: The bored layer. Everything isn't as happy. The flowers seem are wilting, the sky is down, but not too bad.
Layer 4: The still layer. Everything is completely neutral. The enemies aren't moving, the blocks are expressionless, the sky is grey, and the music consists of two instruments now.
Layer 5: The nervous layer. Stuff start moving again, but everything looks dead, even the blocks. Oh, and GIANT RED HANDS WITH BLACK ARMS POP OUT OF SOME PITS NOW, SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF 1ST TIME PLAYERS. And they are annoying!
Layer 6: The creepy layer. The enemies have mouths again, but with sharp teeth and their single eye is now starting to glow. The music is a remix of Layer 2's, and it's very unsettling. And the flowers are now able to kill you simply from touching them. Oh, and jumping on enemies now make them blow up into globs of blood. TERRIFIC.
Layer 7: The scary layer. everything looks absolutely dark. the music is gone and replaced by a heart beat. even the rocks are trying to kill Zee-Tee now. chaos is everywhere. nothing is safe.
layer 8. the chaotic layer. psycho strings are played here. everything is absolutely black and red. zee-tee is the only colorful thing now. the rocks have grown teeth. you can't even kill the enemies anymore. they simply turn into black smoke and respawn.

nothing is ever the same anymore. oh? you wanna know the ending do you? fine.

zee-tee meets nehema after the long journey. as she approaches, everything suddenly turns black and chaotic. and so did nehema. she approaches zee-tee with a slasher smile, before growing four tendrils and get within range. zee-tee is dead. game over. and the game closes itself. this is the bad ending when you didn't collect all of the gems. the good ending though, is better. much better.

Whoa that was weird! Everting sure takes a lot out of you! Short blog but I can't really say much about a platformer that I beat in 30 minutes can I? Well time to split! Bye!!!
