I think people only get “addicted” to weed because they believe that smoking weed will solve all their problems. It’s the same reason as someone who goes to a bar to drink or some crackhead who sniffs because he thinks his life is utter crap and thinks that doing drugs will let him deal with it better. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked everyone I know who does weed WHY they do it in the first place and have gotten the same exact response from EVERYONE. That they do it because it helps them deal with their “shitty” life better which I think is just a retarded way of saying that they are emo and they don’t know/don’t want to “deal with it” or because they think they’ll go psycho balistic and get all homicidal and whatnot without weed to chill them out. Of course other factors are in place. Such as people who do it to fit in.
Personally, I’d never smoke weed. Everyone at my old high school does it. EVERYONE. And more than 90% of the people there who smoke weed end up never graduating and ultimately dropping out because they spent more time sitting around and blazing rather than thinking comprehensible thoughts and putting even a little time into their studies. It makes you stupid and fat basically. But that’s just my opinion. I could care less about who else does it, as long as they don’t try to force it on me or anyone else, or at least try to take measures that will prevent influencing anyone else. I live in a place where smoking weed is almost a way of life for these people and since everyone in every building smokes it, it has a habit of wafting around and most of the time I’m exposed to it unwillingly.
Basically, I don’t care whether it’s legalized or not. As long as I’m not exposed to it or as long as people stop trying to get me to get into their retarded ass trend.
