Arly, Olly was just making a joke, there’s no reason to bash him with such a long, unneeded post that was clearly going to instigate an argument from SOMEONE on this site, you know that. Since when is disagreeing with someone flaming? Since when is any argument a flame war? There are no insults being used; there is no animosity between us. I’m not mad at Arly, and he’s not mad at me. If we want to argue (this is hardly an argument), why not? This thread is silly in its focus, so who cares if it goes a little off topic?

Nonetheless, I’m not sure if it’s good for a mod to encourage off-topicness (but it’s not my place to decide), but on the other hand a simple debate doesn’t harm anything whatsoever; in fact, it’s good to keep things lively, and it keeps users engaged in discussion. First post was possibly trollish. Instead of having to warn Arly, I took it seriously. His subsequent responses were not trollish. He’s also not American, so the probability that he’s serious is high.
