As long as you have a really pushy coach/trainer, you tend to learn pretty fast the hard way.

That’s the mindset in good ol’ US of A. I used to take the Metro back in Montreal though.
Some places don’t really have public transportation, though, so personal cars are the only viable option. Plus, cars are awesome. I’d own one even if I didn’t absolutely need one. Well, that or a motorcycle.
