ParticipantDo you guys feel me on this?
Today I turned on the TV and went to Cartoon Network.. and what do I get? Lame ass 3D cartoons
I mean cartoons back in the day used to be hand drawn so much funnier. Like the old Tom and Jerry, Ed Edd N Eddy, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Lab, Megas XLR, Spongebob, etc. I mean Jimmy Neutron was like one of the early successful CGI cartoons, but now everyone is fucking going CGI. It’s pathetic.
But now, CGI cartoons take over the fucking cartoon industry. Guess what, they’re not even entertaining anymore. I remember there was some law they made for cartoons about being too violent. Why? Because the old Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd(?) cartoons.. They think that the shotgun that Elmer fires is considered as “provoking violence” in children development.
It’s bullshit.

ParticipantBah the old cartoons are always the best and the most nostalgic. ;3
Cartoons nowadays just make you want to facepalm and slap the cartoonist.
Hell, even Spongebob has turned bad lately.
This is why the Internets is better than TV.17 February 2010 at 20:59 #18884tarheel91
ParticipantYou’re forgetting the older cartoons: Doug, Hey Arnold, etc.

ParticipantPretty much everything they show now I’d be embarrassed to watch. I only ever watch if they show a rerun of something good (Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy and sometimes Courage the Cowardly Dog are the only reruns I ever see).

ParticipantCartoons have always been mediocre. They entertained you when you were young so you’re attached. It has nothing to do with the quality. Hell, I love me some old cartoons but when I watch them now, they’re less entertaining. You outgrew them.
Anyways, whoever mentioned Weekenders is my new lover.
My favorite cartoons:
KND
Weekenders
Emperor’s New School
Kim Possible
Freakazoid
The Pussycats
FillmoreI still stay up til 1:30 in the morning to watch Emperor’s New School. Kim Possible comes on before too.

ParticipantWeekenders<3
And the once in a blue moon showing of the original Bugs Bunny cartoons are the only reason I have my tv besides gaming consoles nowadays…18 February 2010 at 02:24 #18893Gujju
ParticipantOMG FILMORE.
I always wished Safety Patrol was that fun.
Personally, I can watch a cartoon that I saw years ago, and think its way funnier. I was a pretty dumb kid and some of the jokes just flew right past me. Now I can watch it and understand every little thing and being the easily amused person I am, I will laugh. A lot.
and Yes Tar. Arthur. 11 years later and I still watch it regularly.

Gullah Gullah Island. 14 years later and I’d still watch it regularly if I could.
By the way, guys, we’re forgetting one of the most epic old cartoons of all time:

and I have never even heard of this Island thinger. You did! My bad. It was one of those shows for 4-6 year olds (e.g. Blues Clues). Tons of fun, and the frog mascot noise made this awesome “Binyah binyah!” sound.

ParticipantMaggie and the Ferocious beast on Teletoon was god.
