ParticipantHow it came to be
Well I began thinking about how we’re all into gaming, namely them MMORPGs. Swords and shields and crap like that eh? Then I got wondering… How can we mix that up with Hurt and Heal? I couldn’t think of anything. So I went to take my shower. Then it hit me. Hard. Not just because the shampoo bottle fell onto my head.
Rules
No way the same as your normal Hurt and Heal.
When a round starts, all players start with 50/100 health and 0 wounds. Wounds are the parts of your health that is unable to be healed by the Heal (or to make things simpler, decreases your max health), thus mixing things up. Wounds are capped at 50, enabling players to have some health rather than none.
The sword and shield weapon is used to deal 3 points of damage but no wounds. The shield will block 1 point of damage from other swords, block 2 points of damage from arrows, cancels out the wound damage from arrows, and blocks 4 points of damage from two handed swords.
Dual wielding consists of two swords, which deal a total of 6 damage. A shield will only block 1 swing, so it does 5 damage to those using a shield.
Using Two handed Swords deal 8 points of damage, more powerful than dual wielding. But when blocked by a shield it will deal 4 damage, less damage than dual wielders.
Arrows will deal 5 points of damage and inflicts 2 wounds, which is the only way to inflict them. When blocked by a shield, it does only 3 damage and the wound property is canceled.
The Heal will recover 5 points of health, up to a maximum of 100 health, assuming no wounds are applied. Heal won’t recover wound points. You can’t heal yourself or your target.
You can choose to attack a player every three game posts. Comments do not count into the needed three turns.
If you choose to join the game, choose a weapon. You can change weapons every 10 game posts. As stated, comments do not count into the needed 10 turns.
A player is considered ‘dieing’ once health reaches 0. One last blow will finish off the ‘dieing’ player. When a player is proclaimed ‘dead’, the weapon is changed to a single sword, which still deals four damage. A dead player can still heal, just not their targets. A ‘dieing’ player can be revived if four players use heal on him/her before a fatal blow is dealt. A revived player will be at 20 health and have gained 5 wound points, unless it’s at the cap of 50 which means no wounds are added.
Complicated, I know. Maybe even too complicated to be a forum game. But let’s give it a try.
Note Rules may change when things become too easy.
How To Play
So… Let’s say we have… These players.
FireLeo- HP 73/76, Dual Wield
IcePegasus- HP 12/84, Bow and Arrow
GreenDragon- HP 1/50, Two Handed Sword
Zerker- Dead, Sword.Dragon attacks Leo, dealing 8 points of damage and brings his health down to 65. He heals Pegasus who’s health rises to 17.
Pegasus attacks Leo too, dealing 5 points of damage and his health drops to 60, but Leo didn’t block the arrows so he also gets 2 wounds added to the current 24, making it 26. Dragon is healed up to 6 health.
Leo attacks Dragon and heals Pegasus. Dragon is now in the ‘dieing’ state. Pegasus is healed up to 22. Leo changes his weapons to a sword and shield and must wait 10 more turns to change again.
Zerker deals a finishing blow to Dragon who is now dead. He heals Leo up to 65 health again.
Confusing but it’s seems doable.
Weapons
Sword and Shield- Deals 3 points of damage and blocks 1 point of damage. 2 if the attacker is using archery and also cancels the wound effect of the arrows. 4 if the attacker is using a Two Handed Sword.
Dual Wield- Deals 6 points of damage. Only one sword will be blocked if the target is using a shield, so 5 points of damage is inflicted.
Two Handed Sword- Deals 8 points of damage. When blocked, will only deal 4 points.
Bow and Arrows- Deals 5 points of damage and 2 wounds. When blocked, will deal 3 points of damage and no wounds.
Healing Spell- Everyone has this. Heals 5 points of health. Only 2 points of health if the user is dead. 4 heals on a ‘Dieing’ target will revive him.
Player List for Round 1
Pirkid- 50/100, Undecided Weapon.
Annona- 50/100, Sword and Shield
FireLeo86- 50/100, Dual Wield19 April 2009 at 08:28 #9132FunnyFroggy

ParticipantI thought it up while I was taking a shower. Of course it’s disorganized.

ParticipantSo… from what I can tell, max HP is 100 and ‘wounds’ are the same as decreasing max HP?
I think that’s easier to grasp, even if semantically they’re the same; e.g. instead of saying ‘HP 73, Wounds 24’ put ‘HP 73/76’.20 April 2009 at 05:27 #9342FireLeo86
ParticipantGame rules and example has been changed for easier understanding… Hopefully.

ParticipantCool.
Maybe specify that wound points = decrease your max health.I’ll play. Sword and shield, please.
