You wake up in a panic, frightened, dazed, your hands shaking underneath the covers. The room is dark, dank, and smells like old sex and wet clothing.
You realize you are naked. And sweating. The room is fiercely hot.
The door is closed but there is light emitting from the slit at the bottom. There is a window with dusty curtains that look like they have never been opened. Shaking, you try to recall what happened, how you got here, but you come up short. You yank the covers off you as you lay in the creaking bed. You are wearing no shirt and some old leather trousers. You reach into your pockets and find:
A key A broken pipe valve A baby potato
And some notes. Counting, you see that you have ∲4 and some change.Your eyes begin to water; it is as if someone is hammering a nail into your temple. The room is very dark as you look around, and you can very barely make out certain objects, a bedside table with a lanturn and drawer, a bending closet, and another wooden door, with no light.
Suddenly, you hear a noise, like a scratch, coming from underneath your bed. Was that you? Did you just move, or is there something under there?
Your heart begins to race as you clutch your nonsensical belongings and stuff them back into your pocket. Looking around, you wonder what to do.

Well first I would think I was in some kind of Silent Hill game.
Then proceed to cry like a bitch as the door opens and I get bumrushed by a bunch of scanity clad, nurse-like mutants.
Then I would come back to life and get revenge by bashing in their skulls with the broken pip valve and heal any injuries I have with the potato. Of course I would cook it first though. Then I would proceed to finish the rest of the game and get some horrifying ending in which I am brutally and violently killed.The end.

Creeping out of the bed, you decide the direct approach is best, and you swing the door open. The light blinds you as your eyes adjust to the new environment. Closing your eyes, you don’t hear anything yet. A good sign?
Finally opening your eyes, you look around. You are in a tavern, but the place is deserted, and destroyed. Upturned tables, broken bottles, and smashed windows. The light is coming from outside, which also seems to be deserted. To your left is the bar, with a cashier and some unbroken bottles of whiskey; to your right is the door leading outside, onto a stone road. You cannot see past the windows so you don’t know what is out there. There seems to be random clothing and belongings strewn across the room amidst the chaos and destruction. Behind you is of course, the door you came through.
A draft blow through the open door. You shiver, and realize you are topless. Clutching your chest, you back up until your body hits the door you opened.
You hear a crash outside, loud but filtered. It sounds like an explosion. Your fingers brush against the key in your pocket as you wonder what to do next.
