ParticipantFeatures
I’ve been thinking about the upcoming features I should work on for VuTales 3.1. The current three that I’m going to focus on are:
1) Tweaking blog likes. I hotfixed the the lock out period to about 4 years earlier today. I’ll remove the lock out completely in a later patch.
2) Adding a better NSFW flag system for blogs. Currently any blog can be seen by any visitor, I plan to add more layers of flagging so seriously NSFW blogs aren’t shown to visitors and can be hidden to logged in users via a toggle in your account settings.
3) Various bug fixes, redirection tweaks to improve the flow on the site and a few other things. Basically the contents of David’s
bugsmug report.Looking further to those, the other things I’m considering in the future are:
Some sort of achievement system.
Friends page/ subscription system/ feed system – little known fact. Before Bogdangate VuTales 1 sort of had a feed system. I even made a thread in the mod forum with all the IDs so I could quickly look them up. Bogdangate hit and the idea was unfinished and later got dropped.
The ability to list a user’s threads and posts, like how you can list their blogs on their ID.
Textual searching of blogs, threads and posts.
Polls
Some sort of invite system that generates perks. Maybe an achievement, maybe just a thanks from me, maybe a postcard signed by myself, a relative of Mipsacri and Tarheel.
Email alerts to events like PMs, pings, quotes, etc.
QoTWs
QoTWs now magically automatically open and close themselves. There are currently another 3 QoTWs hidden from view that will open. This week’s QoTW has been open for 3 days and not had an answer submitted yet. There is also a
thread to suggest future QoTWs since I’d rather have the questions themselves be more a community thing.

ParticipantThe thing is is that I don’t know where to find the QoTW…

ParticipantClick QotW at the top.
Erm, QoTW should be changed to QotW.
And embedded image resizer pl0x, with full size available on clicking.
Or auto spoiler them.24 February 2011 at 04:31 #21763David
ParticipantYeah, no one answered the QoTW yet because, simply, it sucks.
I’ll end up writing one anyway the day before so I’ll win with 1 up-vote (from myself), but that’s it. ^___^
Oh wait, now that I revealed my secret plan… D:

ParticipantHere’s a suggestion: Let’s actually see the dates of the fragments on the fragment section in the main page.
Would be nice.24 February 2011 at 08:03 #21767MasterCheeze
ParticipantI have a draft of a QoTW I started about on the first day, but I couldn’t get Internet yesterday to finish it. I’m back home though for spring vacation, so I’ll get on it.

ParticipantI also had a draft of the QotW, but forgot it on my laptop.
You should give QotW duties to someone else, they can run a poll and do votes and whatnot, so that you guys don’t forget to remember.

ParticipantPirkid, use the draft feature on the site so you can edit it whenever.

ParticipantSlight suggestion: When drafting and saving drafts (for, you know, particularly long-winded blogs, fanfics, etc.), can the following page be the dashboard rather than the VuID?

ParticipantWhere do we suggest QotWs? Is there someone in charge of choosing them?
