So, I’m moving to SC on Saturday. Internet (and possibly TV) will not be installed until Thursday. I’m not sure if there is even a single establishment in the town with free wifi. Needless to say, my free time will be tough.

My solution to this dilemma is movies. Lots and lots of movies! I’ve already got a few ready to go:

    LotR: Extended Trilogy
    Inglorious Bastards
    Zombieland
    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

I’m sure some of you are thinking “WTF!? How can you not have seen LotR or CTHD?” In my defense, I have seen LotR. Unfortunately, it was one big make out session, so I never actually saw any of it. CTHD came out before my parents would let me watch violent stuff, and I just never got around to watching it.

Anyways, recommend me some movies, guys!

Oh, here are some off the top of my head I’ve seen (so don’t recommend them!):

    Pan’s Labyrinth
    Iron Man 1 and 2
    300
    How to Train Your Dragon
    District 9
    Superbad
    Kick Ass
    Juno
    Up!
    Avatar
    V for Vendetta
    Matrix (1-3)
    Kung Fu Hustle
    Hitch
    Sherlock Holmes
    Get Him to the Greek
    500 Days of Summer
    Spider Man (1-3)
    *insert disney/pixar movie here*

There are, of course, many other movies I’ve seen, but these are just off the top of my head (most of them watched within the last year). They also give a good idea of what I like.

DarkDragoon said: Pulp Fiction – Seen
Starsky & Hutch – I’ll stick to the real thing
Despicable Me – Only in theaters
    Inception – See Despicable Me
The Road – Looks great. Looks like the book is better though. 😛 I’ll probably check that out instead.
Public Enemies – Looks like an inferior Goodfellas
Lucky Number Slevin – Heard it was a Pulp Fiction wannabe?
Donnie Darko – Looks crazy, but interesting
3:10 to Yuma – YES! Totally forgot about this movie.
and Bad Santa are all the movie I can think of now – Pass

No stuff only in theaters, please.

What happened when reading would keep children busy for hours and provide the dads the need to not worry about them when they have cougars ready to eat their faces off to fight?

I remember finishing War and Peace then BOOM! I was a man with a butcher’s knife ready to help my dad kill a fat cougar trying to get down our chimney during Christmas Eve night.

Uh, watch anything with Chris Farley in it. And, dude, just play a bunch of games. I got Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Star Ocean: The Last Hope International Edition, Red Dead Redemption (still), Wario Land: Shake It, Paper Mario (like, my millionth playthrough), Blur, ModNation Racers, some other PS3 games I’ve yet to beat, anything I got on emulators, and SSF4/SSBB all to keep me occupied. Granted I’ve been trying to buy as many games as I can before I go to college and become poor, but I’ve got a lot to get at.

@FireLeo86: I’ve read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Sound and the Fury, The Great Gatsby, Uncle Tom’s Children, several books on Chinese music, and Three Cups of Tea in the last year. This is supposed to be a semester OFF from school, haha. I’ll pass.

@Cheeze: Already beaten all my games except HL2 (Close to being done). Plus, I’m not bringing my Wii.

@Tartar-For The Road I’d say the book is better, but the movie pretty much nailed everything in there…character images and all. Book, however, is much more depressing.
Lucky Number Slevin is really a one time watch movie. Once you watch it once you can’t watch it again, not that it’s bad or anything, just because of the way it was written with all its plot twists.
And since you seem to the Grammarphile type maybe you would like some humorous books on grammar? Such as Eats, Shoots & Leaves, or Things that make us [sic]?

Tarheel, how dare you not bring a Wii when there are actually a lot of hardcore titles coming out! I am appalled.

Coming out is the key thing in this sentence.
Nothing hardcore yet, so no Wii!

of the ones i have seen on your list, here is what i have to say:
DEF WATCH: Inglorious Basterds, UP!, How to train your dragon, superbad, kickass, Juno, V for vendetta, Spiderman 1-2
Meh: Zombieland, 500days of summer, Spiderman 3, 300.

The others i wont say cuz i have no seen them.
Others i’d watch are: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, law abiding citizen, the princess and the frog, astroboy, the lovely bones, the blind side, date night.

and if you are a man who can sit through chick flicks : the proposal and the ugly truth.

So… in that case he wouldn’t bring a Wii for the lack of current hardcore titles, but fetch for it when they all come out through the next few months? Bring a Wii, Tarheel. ;O

    Favourites from that list:

Cypher – (Love David Hewlett in this before SG:A)
    Dark City
    District 9
Franklyn – (Watch this without first reading IMDB and see if you can work out who Franklyn actually is)
Network – (Made in 1976, but my FSM it’s true today more than ever)
    Office Space
    The Ninth Gate

@Dark: If I know grammar why would a book on it help?

@Cheese: I only own a Wii. I’ve beaten all my games for it. If I end up picking up Metroid: Other M, I’ll probably bring it down. It has nothing to do with a lack of “hardcore” titles and everything to do with a lack of funds. I’ve got a dozen games I’d like to pick up if I could afford to.

@Sneha: That second list was of stuff I have seen, haha, so I agree mostly (except 500 Days of Summer is awesome!). I like Chick Flicks, but I’ve already seen both of those.

@Vusys: Sweet list. I’ma have to check those out, especially Dark City and Franklyn. Oh, and I’ve seen Office Space. Everyone should. Absolutely amazing.
