ParticipantOkay, so I actually watched a translated version of this ending and now I’ll update the summary with what really happened.
This is one of the bad endings in the School Days game. Apparently, it’s a new ending for the new version of the game that came out for the PS2 called School Days HQ.
SUMMARY OF THE ENDING:
Apparently, Makoto somehow gets Sekai pregant (based on your actions from the game), but Makoto, being the most mature person he is, denies that it’s his child and roughly shoves the blame onto his friend, Taisuke, saying that Sekai shouldn’t force him to take care of a child that is not his. Sekai adamantly claims that it’s his, saying that she never had sex with anyone else but him. Makoto bitches some more and he tells Sekai to stop it and leave him alone, to which she is shocked. Then she blames Kotonoha and tells him that the reason he is abandoning her now is because Kotonoha has said things to him and has lied to him. Makoto denies this too but Sekai hangs up on him, convinced that Kotonoha is the reason why she’s going to be a single mother.
The next day, Makoto and Kotonoha meet at the train station platform. Makoto tells her about how he talked to Sekai and how Sekai now probably holds an undying hatred for her but that she shouldn’t worry about Sekai and that he only has eyes for her. Kotonoha agrees and admits that she has not been completely honest with him about the things she’s been saying but hopes that Sekai could one day forgive them both and understand their feelings. Then Kotonoha says that she will spend the rest of her life apologizing and trying very hard to make it up to Sekai but that she’s okay with it because she misses having Sekai as a friend and she would like for them to be together and hang out someday like they used to before this whole thing started. As they talk, Sekai makes her way over to the platform and…well watch the video. You’ll see what happens.“Their fates may be changed through his effort. But a happy ending is not guaranteed.”
(“His” referring to the main character of this game, Makoto.)I thought I would laugh at this ending, but it turns out to be pretty fucking sad. Especially since the two girls were supposed to be friends and then they BOTH end up completely betraying the other in some way.
Your thoughts on this ending? Which girl do you sympathize with? Why? Etc.
I actually want to have a serious discussion about this.

ParticipantThat’s a pretty terrible way to die. But in a way, it’s what Makoto gets for stringing those girls around and playing them like instruments. Just like Kotonoha said to him in another ending: “You will never be happy. Ever. Even if you decide to be with her, you’ll be cursed with eternal unhappiness.”

Leading girls on and deceiving them is hardly worth death or eternal unhappiness. It deserves punishment, yes, but not this.

Oh no, I was referring that most of the bad endings were based on him not being happy because one of the girls would die and he would feel personally responsible for it because of what he did and what Kotonoha said sort of mirrors that. He’d never be happy because the girl he would decide to be with would either get killed or he’d get killed himself. In a way, even if Makoto doesn’t die, his punishment would be worse than death, having to carry around the guilt of knowing that his actions caused the death of someone for the rest of his life. Therefore, he’d “never be happy”.
Unless you get one of those crazy endings where the girls decide to share him and he ends up getting to do orgies with all those slutty girls. In that case, everyone’s happy. Rofl.25 May 2011 at 00:22 #22401tarheel91

Tartar speaks the truth. It’s all the sluts fault. That’s it.

Not sure whether serious. O_o
He certainly fucked up, but that’s hardly worth death or being burdened with the death of another.

I should have worded it better.
I dunno. It’s just me, though. I’m a girl so I take it much more seriously. Guys..well. They have a completely different take on this. Most girls I talked to about this say it’s Makoto’s fault while guys say it’s the other way around. Girls take this more seriously while most dudes don’t. Everyone has a different opinion on this.
I on the other hand think it’s everyone’s fault. It would have certainly been easier if the girls had just given up on him and just ignored him like any normal person would do or for SOMEONE to just confront him and tell him that what he’s doing is morally wrong. It’s just an anime/game after all and I think the whole point of it was to scare people and teach them that infidelity and fornication without proper protection at such a young age could mess up your life forever or even kill you in extreme cases. They did a good job of that. Ahaha. After watching that anime, I never wanted to date a guy ever again because I was so paranoid that he would sleep with a lot of women behind my back and the last thing I wanted was an STI along with a broken heart. But then I got over it, rofl.
What do you think, Tartersauce?
By the way, thanks for sticking around here and having this discussion with me, you guys. Means a lot.25 May 2011 at 13:17 #22407True13lue

Are you talking about Sekai? Because in the anime, Kotonoha is no such thing. Unless you’re talking about the game, then, pfft, hell yeah.
In the anime, Sekai led him astray by tempting him with her body and disguising it as “practice” which a girl would never fucking do unless she wanted to like…fuck you or something, despite knowing that he was in a relationship with her own friend. It’s such a slutty thing to do. Kotonoha is made to be her foil. So while Sekai was out there and all slutty, Kotonoha was reserved and quiet and wasn’t comfortable doing anything remotely sexual. The most that she does is suck Makoto’s face off but that’s all the way at like the end in the anime. She’s even raped for crying out loud. But in the game, they both do slutty things. Ahaha.30 May 2011 at 16:21 #22433Gujju
Participantuh, lets just agree that makoto was a MANSLOOO.
one thing i never get about these harem-esque animes is what the hell is so appealing about the male lead in the first place. There is nothing overtly special about Makoto that would mean having every girl in the entire series want to fuck his brains out.

*sigh*Agreed. I guess it doesn’t have to make sense. People are attracted to drama. They want to see it. They want to see what happens when everything falls apart in the climax and I suppose that’s what made the show so…uh…popular? I don’t even know if that’s the word.
