1. Opening
Although I stick to the competitive style of Super Smash Bros., the rest of you may not. However, I make this thread to bring together all fans of Super Smash Bros.! Now, post your information in the format I’m about to give you, so we may all communicate over Wi-Fi! Post questions, comments, hints/tips, cool moments, and whatnot here as well.

Favorite Song: (must be from the Brawl OST)Alright, so with that template we can get a better idea of what kinda Brawler you are. There are like two, kinda, at the moment. There’s the casual player and the competitive. Yeah, there’s a big difference between the two, but if you’re not in it to win it, then you can still have a blast with 4-person FFA’s with items and whatnot, since those tend to be a bit more crazy and random.
However, if you ARE in for victory, then usually you play without items, you play with stocks and a time limit (so you can’t just run away the whole match after being in the lead to lead to a cheap victory), certain stages are banned, and different techniques/skills are put to use. As long as we can have fun, though, this will be a perfect project.
Also, maybe we can have a little tournament every now and then since we all have MSN or something. If I host the tournament I’ll try to set things up to take care of everyone (whether casual or competitive), and maybe you can get a prize or something, I dunno. Beats me what the prize would be besides respect. But what else could you want over respect? Eh? Eh? Aww, anything I guess.

VuTales’ first Brawl tournament is about to commence! We need at least four people to enter the tournament (although that would be a really weak tournament— totally useless), so post or PM me if you wanna join. I’ll post a rough copy of the rules so you can get an idea of how things will go down:
Rules
Single-entry tournament with 3-stock matches and 8 minute time limits. All matches except the final one will be best 2 out of 3. The final one will be best 3 out of 5. No items. That includes setting the possibility of an item appearing to “None” in the options menu (this prevents Peaches and DeDeDes from getting items on their appropriate specials). MetaKnight’s infinite cape glitch, planking (repeatedly grabbing the edge to get invincibility frames), stalling (i.e. going under the stage to avoid confrontation), as well as any other glitches that last forever are banned. D3’s standing infinite on DK, Luigi, Samus, and Mario is banned, as well as his small-step chaingrab on Bowser. Standard CGs are not a problem though. In the event of a Bowsercide/Ganoncide on the last stock of both players and Sudden Death or the opponent’s victory occuring, the player who initiated the suicide move still wins the match. Same goes for DeDeDecides and Kirbycides; however, if the victim pops out near the end and survives while the D3/Kirby doesn’t, the victim will win. If time runs out, DO NOT play Sudden Death. The victor of that match is decided by who had the most stocks, followed by who had the least percent damage. In the event of a wrong stage being chosen, immediately SD (self-destruct/ KO yourself) three times to reset the match. Convey what went wrong with your opponent. HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR OPPONENT AT ALL TIMES TO DICUSS PROBLEMS, ANNOUNCE DECISIONS, ETC. If you cannot do so during the match, announce everything beforehand.Those are the rules for the tournament, and I may edit them if I remember something later or feel something should be added (those are mainly based on the SBR’s rules including a few implications of my own). This is the order of the steps for matches that go on:
Match Layout
1. The players meet up and announce any one available stage to ban (I’ll give a list of both the Neutral and Counter-pick stages after these steps).
2. Both players pick a character (you don’t have to tell each other) and select one of the available Neutral stages (the stage is randomly picked between both players’ choices, and remember a Neutral can be banned).
3. The players meet up again, and whoever lost the previous match gets to decide the Counter-pick stage for the next match (it’s okay to pick a Neutral instead of a CP). You CANNOT pick a stage you’ve already won on unless it’s okay with your opponent.
4. The winner of the previous match decides his or her character (you must tell your opponent).
5. The loser of the previous match decides his or her character (you must tell your opponent).
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for any proceeding matches. Make sure to tell each other the information for steps 3-5, and know that you don’t have to be a different character every match.Neutral Stages (first match MUST be one of these)

Remeber D3’s infinites are banned, but his or anyone else’s regular chaingrabs are acceptable. If you think something is an infinite or impossible to get out of, it may not be. Remeber to mash the control stick to get out of some situations. You may also want to mash the C-stick to get out— that is called SDI (Smash Directional Influence). You can only save a Replay if it’s less than three minutes unless you have the infinite replay hack. If a D3 or Peach pulls out an item (using their Side-B and Down-B moves respectively), that’s because one of the players set the chance of an item appearing to something other than None. Make sure to have this setting off. If a Food item appears when versing a Mr. Game and Watch, it’s only because of a 7 on his Judge special move (Side-B). I’m not sure if food appears if you have the chance of an item appearing set at None. Jab locks and Lazer Locks are legal.Participants
