And allow submitting of avatars by URL.
Won’t happen unless you want me to make it so the site will grab the image and copy it to the site, in which case why not just download the image and upload it?
It’s open to abuse. You could link to a file that goes against the dimension and filesize rules. Even if checks for the above were added, it’s not hard to change the file to a different once after it’s been approved.
