    blog comments*

    It’s not really needed because they rarely get more than 30-40 comments anyway, so it’s not a huge deal in terms of page length. It’s not like a forum thread where it can be continually bumped for 50+ pages.

    It’d prevent having to reload the blog content multiple times to read multiple pages of comments, and also remove the problem of not having the front page links jump to the last page.

    Wasn’t there a thread somewhere that had suggestions regarding how to improve the site? *rummages*

    It’s a bad idea, because blogs do get that long

    Then don’t make them that long. D:
    Elongated discussion is what forums are for.

    Edit: Oh, if it wasn’t clear enough, I’m referring to the pagination on blog comments. I think I was a bit ambiguous there.

    @Chameleon no rummaging required, it’s a sticky. But I care not ^^

    Omg, reply to your silly PMs, darn it. D:<

    Butbut… there ARE precedents for when blog comments get to a ridiculously high number, albeit it was an extremely anomalous case… :/

    Would it be possible to make an option to have a certain number of comments displayed per page, like 10 or 25 or however many…? Although it may not be practical, I’m just throwing that idea out there. ^^;;

    Oh, right. I read the PM, and typed half a response, then got distracted and did something else.

    Screw it I have homework to do D:

    People will just make silly RE: Blog threads on the forums if there are limits.

    There don’t have to be actual limits. People limit themselves.

    Rarely are there more than 20 comments that are actually relevant to the blog. After the 3rd or 4th page, in most cases, it just becomes aimless conversation. Which can be had anywhere.

    Besides, even if there are 300 comments on a blog, it won’t kill a browser to load all of them on one page. It might take a long time, sure, but those cases would be rare anyway.

    I think the browsing-efficiency gains for reasonable amounts of comments is worth it. 🙁

    Of note: A lot of legit blogging sites out there don’t have pagination on their comments at all. Empirical proof that they’re not a necessary feature.

    It becomes aimless conversation even on the first page. :/

    You’re just too damn lazy to click the next page! ADMIT IT! You just want to scroll down to read, ya lazy bastard!

    Potatoes… -lesigh- Starch must be gettin’ in da veggie’s head. :/

    Exactly. But I prefer the term “efficiency” over “laziness”.
