Showing a splash page to someone that isn’t logged in / doesn’t have a vutales cookie (the cookie may just indicate to not to show the splash) explaining what the site is and a register form for those that liked the idea and wanted to register.yea that might help.
cuz right now it’s like seeing a site filled with good friends, and no one would really have balls to join in or stay for a longtime. It’s like being the 3rd wheel lol
Sometimes I wish we all still played Maplestory, or we were still an MMO only site, zoning in on newcomers would be so much easier!

You know what’s worse then that? Still having that feeling when it’s supposed to be a double date. That’s the worst, let’s hope this site never comes to that.
I agree that to get more newcomers to stay we do need to have a slightly narrower focus, rather then a broad blogging site.7 December 2011 at 03:12 #23218Nass

ParticipantShould we go back to MMOs? Maplestory was/is a popular game, we just have to draw in the right people and avoid the wrong people. And that goes for any/every game.

Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012 is about to drop in a few days, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is in full force, Street Fighter x Tekken and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are coming out soon, Skullgirls is looking fine, and don’t forget about Soul Calibur 5 which I’m kinda hyped for.

Eh. The fan base for fighters seems… isolated. I don’t really hear much about even popular games like Street Fighter and Tekken.
FPS has a large community, but I’m afraid that I’ll just drag in a bunch of douches.

Participantidk, as far as I know. Barely anyone has time for MMO’s anymore.
Not only that, but personally, I’ve kinda lost interest in them8 December 2011 at 02:09 #23223darkness
ParticipantWell…
…what games are we playing? FPS? Fighters? Strategy? RPG? RTS? Free-roaming? Pixelated? Handheld? Console? PC/Mac? Phone? Apps?
If we’re going to have a mission statement, might as well find the common ground between the 30 of us that run this tavern.

Yeah, the FGC is more grass-roots and less mainstream than games involved with MLG and stuff.

ParticipantOh hey, a search feature. cool.
question for vusys: how much does hosting this website cost?
also, i have something to add.
the most depressing part about this site is that it’s so well-made but devoid of life.
if it was a shitty looking site I wouldn’t care as much, but the graphics and site in general look really nice and sleek. it’s a darn shame.8 December 2011 at 19:37 #23228Vusys
