    I’m against both capitalism and communism, although I’d rather be a capitalist.
    How would a death threat make you more curious?
    There’s no need for an increase in government activity. The police continue what they’re doing right now, except when they catch someone possessing illegal drugs, they take them, detain them for 24 hours, and execute them. I don’t understand why you think that this would require a lot of manpower, as they are not going to bust into and search every house, rather, they would just execute them as they catch them.

    Your first paragraph is supportive of my argument.
    There are no steps, David. You catch the person in possession of the narcotic, you detain for a day, you execute. What can the drug dealer do short of blowing the person out of jail?

    You read it completely wrong. I said execute buyers, not dealers. Unless I fail at Economics, no buyers means no demand.

    This is a hypothetical solution. I actually got a few people in my class on this side, as well as my teacher, who suggested this idea. It’s an idea that may or may not be going through the thought processes of the people in government. I just wanted to see some legitimate arguments against this idea, which is why I came here. My class wasn’t doing so good.

    @Pir
    Cars aid us by moving us to our destinations faster. Guns are used for defense. Granted, they take lives, but they have at least one positive trait. What do illegal drugs do for us?

    That would be the case if the drug only affected themselves. You think that the drug just makes people high and that’s it? Do you think that people just sit at home and light up? No, they’re outside. Methamphetamines are stimulants. Do you really think that users would just chill out like potheads? No, they’re outside. Robbing shit. Breaking shit. Hurting other people. And I’ll find some way to deal with those FAS babies soon. One problem at a time.

    NOPE! I disagree with your disagreement. Lessened demand = lessening supply = higher prices in order to make profit = no buyers which eventually equals no demand.

    @David’s post.
    1. Yep. My school is known for its drug users. However, if this system existed before my time, I bet that percentage would be near zero.

    2. You’re helping my point here. I did not say execute EVERYBODY. I said execute anyone caught in possession of them. I also said that a minority of people have drugs, otherwise, the method would destroy our workforce.

    3. I also did not say to execute EVERYBODY who’s tried drugs. I’ve tried drugs. Okay?

    4. A month was just an example period of time. The government can allot however much time it wants. I understand that drugs have existed since humans have, however, the manufacturing process that changes the plants into the various powders and liquids have not. Remember China’s Opium Wars? Opium was legal then. Britain used it to destroy China from the inside. It’s been tried.

    5. Wrong metaphor. It’s like killing slaveowners to end slavery. The supply side would be the slave traders. No slave owners = no slave buyers = no market for slaves. Similarly: No drug addicts = no drug buyers = no market for illegal drugs.

    Help? Oh, you mean that rehab that the government pays five digits a year for per person that they attend and then come back out to relapse?

    It wouldn’t be a wipe-out of the population. You make it sound as if a majority of the population does illegal drugs (not including cannabis). They gave up their humanity the second they started getting addicted and doing anything in their power to get their next fix. A lot of this country’s property damage/loss is drug-related.

    Of course, it wouldn’t be placed in effect immediately. A month-long warning through radio and televised broadcast would sufficiently reach most of the population. After that, it would depend on a person’s own moral and will to survive. If they’re that far in as to continue, they’re probably not doing much to help the country.

    You forget about the insane health defects and addiction that comes with these drugs. If you’re just talking about cannabis, that’s completely different. I support legalization of cannabis, nothing else.
    You also forget about the fact that the drug warlords and extremist groups are funded by the illegal drug trade. If we legalize them, we’re providing them with a LEGAL way to make money, and therefore take over the world faster. (Well, I guess I should have added that into my opening post, my bad.)

    You forgot to consider the fact that, without abortion as an option, people might be more careful sexually.
    But I forgot to consider the fact that some women might be crazy and have a baby just to get someone to stay in a relationship with them.

    Isn’t a Cannabis Card for doctors only? And the amount they can grow is limited to the amount of patients that they have prescribed? I think I saw a video on it yesterday.
