We are talking about the quality of the music, though, not how successful it is. Ripping off a great band/performer and making their style more mainstream is a classic way to sell music. Plus, Ronald Jenkees’ is the definition of catchy.

Owl City, I give credit, because it’s one fricking guy.
This is a pet peeve of mine. Most bands have one member who makes the music. Sometime a couple will collaborate or one will write the music and another the lyrics. When all of your music is electronic, how is a one man band so impressive? Ronald Jenkees blows Owl City away in that regard, and anyone can autotune their voice into going with the song. Then there are people like Reggie Watts who actually are a one man band.

They’re funny, but in some of those, they’re stretching it. Maroon 5 isn’t shit. They’re not genius, but they’re got one of the most unique sounds in pop today (notice I said pop and not music in general). They pick out a couple songs with parts that sound boring without the context and basically go on for five minutes about some random aside (Maroon 5 and dinner parties?).
Funny and generally sound with most of their picks, but they’re reaching on a few.
I haven’t seen it but that’s definitely a no-no. It’ll get at least a warning and post deletion if I see it.

That’s usually done with the TS’s consent (or by the TS him/herself). Joaco has made it clear he doesn’t want the thread to derail. It’s his thread; respect that.
Picturs. People. Picturs. Go to the rant or train wreck forum if you want to complain about the community. This is a serious thread. Do NOT derail it.
Just because I have no internet doesn’t mean I have no mod powers. Keep conversation on the purty picturs. If you want to argue about countries elsewhere use facts instead of random shit or it will get locked.

@Cheese: I only own a Wii. I’ve beaten all my games for it. If I end up picking up Metroid: Other M, I’ll probably bring it down. It has nothing to do with a lack of “hardcore” titles and everything to do with a lack of funds. I’ve got a dozen games I’d like to pick up if I could afford to.
@Sneha: That second list was of stuff I have seen, haha, so I agree mostly (except 500 Days of Summer is awesome!). I like Chick Flicks, but I’ve already seen both of those.

@FireLeo86: I’ve read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Sound and the Fury, The Great Gatsby, Uncle Tom’s Children, several books on Chinese music, and Three Cups of Tea in the last year. This is supposed to be a semester OFF from school, haha. I’ll pass.
