EVE Online "The Probe"

Well. A buddy of mine was telling me, during the Wormhole op (see previous blog) about how you locate Wormholes.

No. Its not easy.
First, you gotta have probes.
Easy part.
Then you head to a system… then open up the Scanner Map!
It'll lay down a map of the solar system your in.

Then you launch a probe, it shows the range of viewing which you can move around.
Usually you set the first one to max scan, it covers whole system, then scan.
If it doesn't find anything, move on to next system, if you ping something, yay! It shows the % chance of locating it.
You need 100% chance for it work, even 99% won't work. (1% off could land you a couple billion miles away)

After that, you then send out more probes, search around, decreasing viewing range, and try to pinpoint to where it is.
First time I did it… took me 40 minutes to finally find it.
You gotta narrow, move, and literally map it on a virtual scale!!!
NOT EASY!!
When you finally get 100% of finding it, you send more probes and poke around that, until finally a green dot appears showing what you found!
Usually you can guess by description..
"Anomoly? Unstable? … WORMHOLE!"

Then you can lock it and warp to it.
Not many people apparantly probe, they say,cause of how irritating it is…
But you can find alot of hidden stuff!

Lol… yeah.
Hopefully that wormhole will stay open for tonights operation.
But that placed scared me… in the background was a huge red vortex with black middle.
Black hole? @_@
Was part of background, but idk…
I mean… the silence of that place in those wormholes. 30,000 players online, and your lightyears away from them all… alone… in a black empty void of space where your only exit could close at any moment, trapping you for possible days or weeks…
And the quietness! GEEEZ…
While sitting there, pining my probes…. my heart just started racing as I looked around…. nothing… noone around me… no safe places… only 1 wormhole leading back to my base.
*shudders*

Thats what we're looking for.
Scary stuff…
Now off to McDonalds! I promised myself breakfest if I located something.
