Untitled Poem

By In Uncategorized

We are so much alike and yet we're so far apart,
Unknowingly intertwined, and you took a piece of my heart.
I reach out to you, the blood spilling down my chest,
But you just turn and walk away, saying you know what's best.

I'm not you're type, so "We" just can't be.
But how can I just stuff these feelings inside?
We're meant for each other but you refuse to see,
You're stuck behind your false sense of pride.

Don't you know the man you think you want doesn't exist?
How long will you allow yourself to live in this denial?
Please just snap out of it now or I'll insist,
Just skip to my hanging and forget the trial…

I don't know how much longer I can wait alone,
I'm praying that you wake and smell the roses today,
For soon I'll be singing in a different tone,
And you'll be wondering what you gave away.

good ol’ rhyming poems, they’re a favorite of mine

but why’d you change the rhyme scheme mid poem?

it doesnt make your poem bad or anything but i was confused at first and i had to reread to make sure i read everything right
