GodsWar Online Review

Well, this game has had me playing for more than 2 days. Lets celebrate! Usually, if a game isn't good, I quite within 6 hours, but this game is different.

Gameplay

The gameplay is a little different for a change. It's not only click on a monster, and wait until they die. You get to choose where your skills go for a change.

Although, the game is different, your only options are quests, grinding (DON'T DO IT), and raids once you're stronger. The game is based on ancient Greece, so for raids it's either Spartans vs Athens, or Athens vs Spartans.

Another cool thing about this game is if you're strong for your level, you will get higher leveled quest. For example, if you're level 10, but you're strong, you can receive level 17 quests. Right now, I'm level 37, and can receive level 38 quests. Also, if you're in a guild, and donate money, you can talk to a person, and he will make you stronger depending on how much you've donated. You can split where you want to become stronger in. If you want magic attack, and defense, go ahead. It also depends how good your guild is. If it's weak, and sucky, you won't get a lot of extra points in the area you requested to become stronger in. My guild used to be one of the best, so it's high for me. 😉

You don't get Ability Points every time you level. Instead, how strong your character is, is based off of this:

You get talent points from completing quests, and grinding (best way to become a whole lot stronger since you get expertise experience which gives talent points).

You fill up that green bar by casting skills which makes grinding the best way.

The skills are very neat, too.

Well, that's my opinion. You upgrade skills as you level up. You can by the first few skills from NPCs, but then you have to hunt for them or buy them off of players. For example:

You can buy Fireball 1 off of an NPC, but you have to get Fireball 2 from a drop or a player.

There is also level requirements for the skills.

Although, there are a lot of good things about the gameplay, there is also a lot of bad. They have a bad tendency to reuse things in lots of there games, but don't get me wrong, because they use a lot of different things in the game as well.

Classes:

I was a bit disappointed here. I wanted there to be more classes than four. Well, there is four choices, but I wouldn't consider it four classes. It's more like two classes.

Priest/Mage – The Priest can heal. There is a minor difference in their spells. They both use fire, they should just be one class.

Champion/Warrior – The Warrior and Champions are tanks. There is a minor difference between the two. The Warrior uses one-handed swords, and the Champion used spears.

The spells look cool and all, but the classes are basically the same. I wanted to see something new, and where the hell is the archer!?

Community:

The community is VERY populated with nine servers. The first few are extremely populated, and the rest are decently populated. I play in the last server, and I still see a lot of people. The bad thing is, there are a lot of people from the Philippines for some reason. It's not very common to find someone who speaks fluid English. They can speak English, just not very well. I'm not against them or anything, but I want someone to talk to sometimes. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of people who speak English well, there's just for people from Philippines.

Graphics:

The graphics are slightly above average as seen in the screenshots.

Summary:

Overall, GodsWar Online is definitely worth a try. You don't need an amazing computer for it, and it's a very fun game. It's not hard to level either. The max level is 120, in case you were wondering. It's a nice game, and I'm still playing. 🙂

Pros:
It's different – It's not your average grinder, a cool guild system, and non cash shop based as listed below.
Quest tracker – It's always nice to have a quest tracker.
Easy leveling – You could get to level 30 in the time it would take you to get to level 15 in FlyFF. It's not hard to level at all.
Nice Skills – Visually
Interesting Guild System – You can use the money you've donated to the guild to make you stronger.
Can receive higher leveled quests if you're strong enough.
Not cash shop based – The basically only sell in-game items in the cash shop, which you can find your own, or receive from quests.

Cons:
Start running out of quests from 30-40
Reuses things from their previous games over and over
Basically, there's only 2 classes

Score:

8.5/10

Try it.
