So I said that I wanted to update more frequently and actually get back into blogging, but that obviously hasn’t happened. I really did like the time before when I would blog at least once a week, but of course that was when I had more time to kill and less weight on my back. I decided to update you guys on something major that happened to me over spring break about my medical condition, so I guess I’ll jump right into it.
The Beginning
The day after the last of school before spring break, I decided to head to the mall and spend some cash I earned from my job at Kumon. I cashed my cheque, and headed to Coquitlam Center shopping mall. There, I wandered around for a little while, walking in and out of stores to check out clothing, games, etc. I finally decided on dropping 80$ on Mass Effect 3 as well as the strategy guide. I haven’t beaten it yet, but I’ve been told I’m going to be very disappointed. Apparently no matter what you do you have no control ove-
OKAY OKAY GEEZ. God damn pushy common folk and deities. Anyway, I went home, and that night, upon inspecting my foot, I noticed that there was a red bumpy spot around the underside of my big toe knuckle. It hurt to touch, but I shrugged it off. I got those all the time from walking around in small shoes for too long. Did I mention my shoes were small? Now I have. There. Background. BAM! Anyway, I ate oranges and it was ‘kay.
The Next Day
I woke up feeling a little drowzy not knowing how to start off my 2 week break, so I go out of bed to make my normal local round to the washroom and almost tripped. The little red bump was now a bigger-than-small-but-not-quite-as-large-as-big size bulge. This had also happened before, so I said “FUCK IT” and I walked that shit off. Throughout the day though, it got worse, and stepping on it started to hurt like a bitch. By the end of the day, I couldn’t walk properly without grimacing every time I put pressure on it. Could not sleep at all that night. It sucked.
Days 3 and onward
Anyway, upon awaking, I bitched about my foot to my mom who promptly took me to the clinic and I got my blood tested, foot x-rayed, and was given some pain medication. And holy shit did it feel better. It started to swell less, and the pain mostly went away. I went home and it was ‘kay. I went back 2 days later on wednesday, and the doctor told me some news that I thought was ridiculous when I heard it. So according to my doctor, I have Gout, a form of inflammatory arthritis. If you aren’t familiar with gout, it’s a condition where uric acid in your bloodstream is not properly filtered out by your kidneys, and in tern crystallizes in your joints, swelling it up, and dealing massive damage pain. From now on, I need to watch my diet, lose weight, and only eat from certain food groups, or else I risk getting it again, possibly in another area, but almost definitely more painful. So that sucks. I’m 16 years old, and I have arthritis. However, the fun doesn’t stop there.
Unnecessary Segway Header
The doctor, after another blood test, informed me that I have a blood disorder called Thalassemia, which is a condition where my blood cells are smaller than they normally should be, so I can’t carry as much oxygen as the regular person can, risking me to becoming more susceptible to anemia, and respiratory problems at an older age. Fucking fantastic. That was pretty much my spring break. Oh yeah, went to a LAN party. That was fun. League all day. Then I went back home and ran my head into a wall about my bullshit circumstances.
Anyway, that’s all I have to say for today. Maybe I’ll have more to say tomorrow. We’ll see.

dude. that is some serious business.
This is how I learned about gout.
Also, it’s segue, not segway. Not to be an ass and point out your spelling errors, but because I used to make the mistake too and it’s better to know so you don’t make it in the future.
In all seriousness, hope you get better soon. Watch that diet. Health is the most important thing.

Haha, that’s the first thing that popped into my mind when he started talking about it. I’ve also learned about stuff like deep-frying turkeys for Thanksgiving from that show.
