Feeling kinky.

So I suppose the time between my last blog and this one is enough time for me to have done enough stuff to actually make a blog worth writing. Or so I think. Yeah, never mind, I ain’t writing a blog.

Whoa, okay, wait a minute now– I didn’t know you’d be so eager to go do something better with your time. In case you didn’t notice, this place has been unhealthily dead. I make it part of my daily ritual to check this site out expecting new stuff, but all two of you (including myself) haven’t been posting. Just think of some shit and write it down! It’s not that hard! Why can’t I do it then?! Shiiiiiiiit!

So the only thing I live for in life is fighting games, and it just so happens that Street Fighter x Tekken is gonna drop in a few weeks. I’ve been hanging out and playing games like Super Street Fighter 4, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, etc. with some dudes that make up a group called the Fargo-Moorhead Fighters, and my roommate also plays, so that’s pretty much what I’ve been up to lately. I go to, like, a few classes between Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (pretty much a four-day weekend if I skip my Programming class on Mondays and Fridays), and spend the rest of my time sitting around on the computer, watching EG | Floe’s stream of I Want to be the Boshy, and playing video games. Life is pretty sweet if you have absolutely no initiative to better yourself.

I also have an increasingly large backlog of games that’ll take me decades to finish. I keep starting games and relying on random moods that can occur years apart from each other in order to go back and finish what I started. From what I can remember, I got all of these games to either finish or actually start:

– Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
– Metroid: Other M
– Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
– Super Mario 3D Land
– No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise
– Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
– Heavy Rain
– Dragon Age 2
– Sly Cooper Collection (second and third games)
– Star Ocean: The Last Hope International Edition (had it for years and never started)
– Final Fantasy 13 (lol probably not, fuck that game)
– Xenoblade (Playstation one)
– Breath of Fire IV
– Threads of Fate
– Final Fantasy Tactics

So yeah, a lot of Nintendo and Sony games. I also know I’m gonna be playing the new Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, and Animal Crossing games for the 3DS when they come out. There’s also the Devil May Cry HD Collection on the horizon, and, like I said, SF x Tekken is the next big thing. So, uh, since I literally have nothing else to talk about in my life, I’ll just ramble on about SFxT since I’m so one-dimensional.

Personally I’ve gone from being excited about this game when it was first announced, to pretty pissed off about some of the new additions, and then back to being really excited. Capcom’s releasing SFxT which is gonna be similar to Street Fighter 4 with some MvC-like additions, and down the road Namco is gonna make TxSF which will be like any ol’ Tekken game (fireballs and super meter included for the SF dudes, so it should be interesting). For about a month Capcom was accepting submission videos for a reality show called Cross Assault which was gonna pit five SF players against five Tekken players in a competition for $25,000, so I’ve been watching that since it runs all day with an elimination challenge at the end of the day.

For anyone interested, there’s a link for Team Street Fighter, Team Tekken, and the main stream where the main events take place. The whole thing is run by Team Spooky and iPlayWinner, so it’s pretty top notch quality. The actual main events are kinda amateur-ish, but it’s nice to see Capcom take a huge interest in the community like this. Today is really gonna be awesome since 10 more top players from the community are showing up to practice with the players, and they’re also gonna compete against each other in $1,000 money matches. Most of the players are recognizable and include Arturo Sanchez and Peter Rosas (Combofiend); Rip and MYK (Tekken players), Filthie Rich and FlashMetroid, Ryan Hart and Ricky Ortis, and (what I’m looking most forward to since it’s a salty runback) Mike Ross and Jago. The final event for the $25,000 between Cross Assault’s finalists is gonna take place next week at Final Round, so most of my week is lookin’ unproductive.

As for what I’m looking forward to most in this game, I’m hoping to try out a bunch of Tekken characters. After playing SF4 and its ton of iterations, I’m pretty burnt out on the same SF characters that are gonna be in SFxT. I’m thinking of Hwoarang and Lili as a stylish team that should work out good, and I might try out Rolento with King since they’re both good at either setting up or finishing tag combos with other characters. Vega/Poison is another duo I wanna try out, and other than that I might just mess around with other SF characters I know how to use as well as random Tekken characters.

So, uh, other than all that stuff, I literally have nothing else to… articulate sentences with. Right now as I finish this blog, the main event for Cross Assault today is starting on CapcomUnity’s stream, so be sure to head there if you too give a fuck about what I fuck give about fuck.I just hope you’re all active enough to have read this blog and get my message before the stream’s done. Lolhaha fuck that, the game will already be out by the time anyone reads this.

Never really got into the competitive fighting scene. Dunno why. Guess I never liked the whole rock paper scissors part of it. RTS is more of my style. That and racing.

by the way, I almost stopped reading. No, actually, I did. I backed out to the main page, and then for some reason I came back and I was like, “Oh, there’s more…”

And then….

I read it. =P
