My epic tale of Modern Warfare 2
Warning: No modesty is involved in this blog.
It was a couple months ago when I purchased my PS3 and a copy of Modern Warfare 2. When I popped in the game for the first time I found myself accustomed to the following set up and layouts:
Sensitivity: Medium
Button Layout: Normal
Kill streaks: UAV, Predator Missile, Harrier Strike
Sound setup: Stereo
For the first few weeks I played I would only play respawn type modes. I was very hooked to the game; I believed getting an 11 kill streak was difficult. My KD was around 1.90ish or so. It would always fluctuate around that, but it would never go above 2.00 or go under 1.80. To sum it up, I was pretty much a naeb.
After dedicating myself to improving and to excel, a few weeks of intense nocturnal gaming got me to the following:
Sensitivity: 6 (3 above high)
Button Layout: Tactical
Kill streaks: Harrier, Chopper Gunner, Tactical Nuke
Sound setup: Turtle Beach PX21 Headset
After playing constantly I found many tricks to the game, and I also discovered the importance of sound/foot steps. I found myself improving and eventually dual analog was second nature to me. My experience with mouse and keyboard had completely been taken over. Aiming was now a breeze and I could adjust to situations accordingly. My new-found familiarity with rush tactics and grenade spots would save me countless of times, and before I knew it I had gotten my first Tactical Nuke! (Tactical Nuke: A kill streak reward obtained by getting 25 kills straight; you end the game with an explosion and your team automatically wins.) I was absolutely delighted, not only because I had gotten the nuke but because of my dramatic rise in skill in the game within a few months.
I was now content; my KD had rose to 2.61, but I was still not satisfied. I had mastered respawn type modes. I had memorized all the spawns and hot spots people would go to, and how to deal with them. Now I went on to make Search and Destroy my bitch.
Search and Destroy was the same agonizing process but expedited. I wasn't that great at it because the strategy at playing it was completely different from respawn oriented modes. However, over time I improved and eventually my scores would always be at top. One of my best scores in Search and Destroy was actually 20-1, if you can believe it. I had become so well known within the community in such a short amount of time that I would eventually be known as the "clutch" player.
One particular S&D game that I had played in would be the stepping stone of my CoD future. I was playing a clan called -aG- in a public match, (they're in the top 100 clans in game battles of PS3 MW2.) and I found myself wiping the floor with them. Although I still lost the game, (2-4) I still ended the game with my score of 16-4. The two rounds that my team had won were solely because of me. However, my score was possible only because they had underestimated my team. Had they treated the match as if it were a scrimmage or clan battle, we would have been shut out 4-0.
Surprisingly, -aG- had deviated from the norm of the CoD community and actually acknowledged their ass-whooping. Instead of complaining and trash talking, they backed out and invited me to their party. I played with them and found out that these guys were both extremely chill and high skilled. After performing well in the few matches we played, they invited me to their clan for a try out. After gladly accepting it, I proceeded to go and play my first scrimmage/Game battle the next day.
I raped. 6-0 in a 4 round match in Terminal: S&D. This got me good brownie points, and secured my spot in the roster. We continued on to scrim and before I knew it I was considered a top notch member of the team, and I would often get the starter spot for our scrimmages.
After a couple more weeks of playing, I've noticed the inactivity of the clan and the decreasing amount of times we would scrim. Deciding to take action, I had told the leader I would be leaving and creating my own team. (By this time I had all sorts of connections with many top teams we scrimmed.) I assembled my own clan called WARgasm. (yes I am aware of the title now but I was not when I made it) I took many members of -aG- with me and several others from different clans, and created my very own GB team. My roster:
WARgasm_tAe (<- me) (3.27 KD)
WARgasm_KiLLz (new recruit)
WARgasm_Fox (former -aG- member)
WARgasm_Blood (former -aG- leader)
WARgasm_c0nsum3r (new recruit)
WARgasm_NiCK (former -aG- member)
That's pretty much up to the point where I am now. Our first scrim is tomorrow.
That's it, guys!

Gamebattles is gay…well on the Xbox.
Every single team me and my dubs partner went against was a team composed of two whiny 10 year olds.
Needless to say they were thrashed.
And you play on 6? 6 seems awful slow to me, then again I have been on 10 for forever now.
And your perks are no fun mr.cookie cutter perks.
Real team players go UAV, Counter UAV, and EMP.(Getting EMP with this setup is buckets of laughs btw.)
Good luck with your scrim Spade.
[EDIT]I meant streaks as well.
Mw2 sucks.
Cuz activision published it.
If only they weren’t teamed up with blizzard…
I’m making WARgasm_k3n
edit: I’ve bumped up my KDR from .80 to .86 in an hour today, still haven’t played S&D at all, I suck at it
Although I’m no geek at CoD, I can see that you’re a very skilled player, to go from iffy to excellent to an invitation into a clan to making a clan of your own. A very noble story of your rise into MW2.
Good luck with your newfound clan.
Your perks are gay because they don’t help your team.
EDIT: Killstreaks*
