suama hates a lot of things #1

I hate that Mac keyboards don't have a visible hash key, which leads to me bashing several buttons.

But anyway. As my life isn't as interesting/dramatic/weird as most of yours (Either that, I don't complain as much. Heh.), I thought I'd fill this thing with cynical mutterings instead. Just because I'm lovely like that. Although it's uncommon, I do have some things that I obsess about that may get a mention from time to time too. Either that, or I'll never use VuTales again. >_>

Today, the topic is. Buses. (That I typed ages ago. But I'm lazy to do anything right now.)

I fucking hate these things with a passion, and I hate the fact that so many people have to rely on them, yet they're so stupidly unreliable. I mean, I'm generally not an angry person (Hah). But I seriously think these are the only things I really, really hate in life. (Well, that I can think of right now.)

When I went to college, I finished at 8pm. Sometimes when I'm a lazy fuck, I left college early, stupidly thinking "Hey! If I leave college at 7.30, I'll be able to get either the 7.30 (if I'm really lucky) 7.40 or 8.00 bus, so I can be home for 8.30!". Because usually, I left at 8 with my friend and walk to his bus station, so then I'd be on my bus stop at 8.15 to wait for the bus at 8.35.

So one day, I was waiting for my bus at 7.45 without walking to my friend's stop, knowing my bus would be arriving at 8.00. There were 2 other people waiting for my bus too, as they didn't take other buses when they went past, so I thought I didn't miss it. 8.00 rolled by… It didn't arrive. Then over the horizon, I saw my bus number at 8.15! Well… It was the right bus number, but it's the bus which only goes like, 1/4 of the way I needed it to go. >_> At this point, every other bus number besides mine had gone past. But then my bus arrived at 8.35, and was still incredibly pissed off, since I might as well of walked my friend to his stop. At least I wouldn't be bored shitless for 50 mins. >____>;;

Plus, we had to swap buses half way. And it seemed like they only informed the bottom half of the bus, and we only started moving since other people were wondering wtf was going on.

Other random shit. Since the bus I usually go on has a lot of people, it's a double decker bus 99% of the time. Prolly even more than that. One day, my friends and I were going back to my house, to watch some films and crap. We were going home at rush hour, so it was busy obviously, and we couldn't get on the first bus which had arrived when we were there, since it was too full. The second bus… Was a fucking single decker bus. I mean, what kinda retards send a small bus during rush hour?!?! There was a mother with a pram too, who couldn't even get on the last bus, and had to miss this bus too, since it was too packed.

And another time, an old woman had to wait an hour to get her bus. It wasn't late or anything, it was at 3pm. So I'd expect a bus at least every 20 mins. (I get either the 41 or 43, but she had to get the 41 since she went a longer distance than me)

I mean… Maybe I'd understand if the buses were cheap. But it's so bloody expensive! It honestly seems like to me that the more they rise their bus prices, the less fucking buses there are! £3.70 ($6?) for a return into town, which is a 30 min bus drive away. Or before 9am, it's £4.20 for a return. ($7) If I wanna go to my friend's house that's in Yate (Yate is in the countryside, ish. Well, it kinda goes past the country side), it would cost me £6 ($10) for a return, or £4 for a single! And it's not like it's hugely far away, it's 30 mins! He gets bus cards for his journeys though, so it's cheaper for him. Although, we can't get bus cards cheap anymore, since we used to buy them through college. But now the college has ran out of the grant which was used to make the buses cheaper, we're a little screwed.

…I won't even mention the people I have to deal with on the bus. I might break the site.

I like the city bus.

It’s cool. Kinda like our pro metro system here too.

Wow, that really sucks.

Asian public transit systems are so much better. Except one time, we nearly missed the last bus of the day, and almost got stranded about fifty miles out in the middle of nowhere. >__>;;

Our system here is meh. My bus route is pretty busy we get them often enough. My problem is more with city construction, causing my bus route to go on a detour which ads to my already hour and a half commute to school .

Sheesh, an hour and a half? What time do you need to wake up to get to school on time?

I don’t mind my Mac keyboard, but the fact my bad memory + no visible hash key can be pretty frustrating. And that when I’m on Windows, my ” and @ like to interchange randomly.
