Tragedy

Has anyone seen the anime Tokyo Magnitude 8.0? It's a new summer anime, and it's about what would happen if Tokyo had an 8.0 magnitude earthquake (well, duh XD, as you can tell by the title). Anyway, in this week's episode, there was an earthquake volunteer that lost his grandchildren in the earthquake, and has to deal with survivor's guilt. So, I'd thought I write something about that scenario.

Have you ever known someone that blames themselves for the death of a loved one?

Saying such heartbreaking words
With a gentle smile on your face
I can’t help but to shed my tears
The sadness in your eyes
Tell a story I can’t bear to hear

Can I hold you close to me?
The burden you carry
Is too much for one to have
Your eyes mirror your heart
I see a child calling for help

Oh, cool. EARTHQUAKES! 😀 Chaos and destruction! Watch I shall. 😛

The big one’s supposed to be coming to LA soon. =/

FunnyFroggy 10 August 2009 Reply

Yaaaaaaaaaaay! I heard they predict 3 million people will die. ._.

If I live through it, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

@ FF: It’s not your typical Hollywood disaster show; it portrays the earthquake and its aftermath more realistically and the people are more believable.

@AznRiceFan: At least LA isn’t 100 years overdue for a BIG earthquake…*is scared*

… If you worry about things that are for the most part out of your control, your hair’s gonna turn all white by the time you’re 20. :/ I mean, unless you move far far away to Montana or something… then yeah, can’t really do anything if a quake hits. 😛

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

Yeah, true. Okay!
*skips along the sidewalk* ….that was creepy =O.

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

… Although once you stop worrying about some things, the rest tends to follow… maybe that’s why my parents are always pissed at me? Because I’m not so worried about grades and shiet all the time? XD

FunnyFroggy 10 August 2009 Reply

But Montana = TORNAAAAAAADOOOOOOO!

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

Nope. Tornado Alley is a bit further south. I think…

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

@ Chameleon: Not worried about grades? =O I could never do that XD.

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

Well, I AM worried about grades, just it never… shows… on the surface, and I do tend to slack off quite a bit (I’m such a horrible excuse for an Asian xD) so my parents get… ah, upset, with me quite often over the school year. xD

no i haven’t but it would probably drive me mad because fixing them requires alot of effort. not that they’re broken…

@ Chameleon: I procrastinate :D.

Show’s great. BONES delivers once again. The ending of the first episode in particular was amazing.

BONES is always awesome XD; did you see last season’s Eden of the East?

First Episode was pretty good: typical teenage angst, then BAM! the world around Mirai collapses.

Yeah, I’ll be buying t-shirts stating so. After the electricity comes back on and the riots stop, of course. And after I pluck the last bottle of water away from the corpses of my neighbors. o_o

San Andreas fault is around 300 years overdue for a big one.

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

Yeah, I’ve heard that recently (ish?) there was a lot of unusual activity in this region. :/

I did; it was good; but it wasn’t made by BONES. O_o

There’s three movies that are going to finish up the series.

@AznRiceFan: Ohhh…ouuch.

@ tarheel91: It wasn’t by BONES? The character designs look so similar though xD. I can’t wait until the movies.

The character designs were by the same guy that did Honey and Clover, actually. They do share some semblance to some BONES work, so I see where the confusion arose.

Honey and Clover; people keep telling to watch it, but I never get around to doing that.

Arladerus 10 August 2009 Reply

They’re predicting that Japan will have an earthquake of about 7.0 in the next 10 years, right? That’s why they made the anime…

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

@ Arladerus: I think so. And in regards to your dp, I can’t believe I sat through them talking about food for 10 mins.

It’s one of the most hilarious romantic comedies I’ve seen; second only to Ouran High Host Club (and just narrowly beating out ToraDora). It’s also got a very strong serious side to it. Great series. One of my top five romantic comedies (and I’ve seen far too many).

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

@ tarheel91: I loved Ouran XDD, but Toradora I haven’t got around to watching the entire thing. Hm…should start watching H&C after the million shows I have planned to watch.

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

The English dub of the Ouran anime is hilarious. Although… my friends and I tend to make fun of the voice-acting sometimes >__>;;

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

I’ve only seen it with the Japanese VA’s…Haruhi’s VA (Sakamoto Maaya) is one of my favourites ^^.

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

Yeah, I try to watch with English subs when I can, but sometimes it’s just fun to parody things.

One time in 8th grade, our teacher told us to go watch The Sound of Music, and so since I had the VHS tape, I invited a few friends over and we had an awesome time talking about how certain parts seemed so… ridiculously funny, even if it was unintentional. xD

Taelin 10 August 2009 Reply

Haven’t seen that in such a long time~

Chameleon 10 August 2009 Reply

Put four Asian girls in a small room with a ‘classic’ musical… bad stuff happens. xD

Taelin 11 August 2009 Reply

I can actually see that happening XD.

Chameleon 11 August 2009 Reply

We went absolutely bananas. xD

And at the part where Maria and the… retired officer dude… were standing together in the garden at night? We noticed the most RANDOM things like how their eyes were the ONLY white-lit parts and how they showed up like neon lights, stuff like that. Super random. xD;;

Taelin 11 August 2009 Reply

Yeah, randomness always makes me laugh, even if it’s bad.
