If you're looking for an nVidia graphics card, DONT buy NVidia! NVidia sucks!
Get ATI instead!
Ok This week I got Starcraft 2. All my friends bought it and are already nearly halfway through the campaign and playing online. If you don't know what SC2 is, it's pretty much like Command & Conquer or WH40K Dawn of War; interface wise. Build places, stack up resources, make a hundred troops, and go out and literallt gang rape the enemy.
And when the enemy soldiers die, they EXPLODE in a juicy burst of red'n'gore.
I got through the first campaign and all of a sudden the game crashes and the error message reads "ACCESS VIOLATION 0x000005.@#$@#$@#"
So I'm like "FUCK YOU, YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!" (cuz I paid 70$ for this damn game)
3.12 GHZ processor, GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card, and 2 GB of ram, Windows XP.
my computer CAN handle it.
So I update the driver for my graphics card…
Oh great now not only the game craps out MY WHOLE COMPUTER CRASHES! Now I get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!
So I made a dxdiag and posted on the battle.net forums, where a lot of ppl are saying the game keeps crashing on them…and most of them have NVidia graphics card. some guy had an 8800 GTX and his comp nearly blew smoke over the game. He said the fans in the graphics card went haywire or something.
…And I paid $300 for this graphics card 🙁
*hates self for not buying an ATI graphics card instead*
But lots of ppl are complaing about SC2 crapping out on their computers, while my buddy who's comp can hardly run World of Warcraft and chokes on the lag if he goes to Dalaran, and yet that ancient thing can run SC2…WTF.
Last night I had this awesome and screwed up DREAM. I was in pre-1989 Berlin (when it was surrounded by the Berlin Wall) riding my bike around the city. I was then like, "I'm in West Berlin. SWEET!" So I spent 4 hours riding around West Berlin checking maps at corner stores and gas stations, trying to find a street called Friedrich Strasse that leads to Checkpoint Charlie. I wanted to go ride my bike around East Berlin in the DDR (East Germany).
So I finally made it to Checkpoint Charlie but they had a new route for pedestrians and cyclists that went through this weird building that almost looked like a mall but led straight to the East German border crossing on the other side of the line. I also wanted to stop by all the street vendors that chilled right outside along the Berlin Wall. Some guy was selling East German flags and crap.
So I waited in line and realized I forgot my passport, and some lady, idk an under cover cop said the East German border guards just wanted to see my driver's license.
When we went inside, there were two shops on both sides that had a crapload of candy and junkfood piled up and just beyond that was a glass door and I could see the East German buildings.
Then of course as I walked through between the junkfood stores, the dream cut out and I woke up. I was like "DAmmit! I could have gone biking in East Germany!"
I had this dream because I said I wish I could go back in time to pre-1989/1990 Berlin and bike around in the East and West. That would have been epic. A guy at my work told me the East German border guards wouldn't let people bike accross the border, so If I did exist back then and there I would have had to lock my bike up just outside the border and walk around East Berlin instead :/
Checkpoint Charlie seen from West Berlin. the East German border crossing station is hidden from view by the walls. Charlie is the small portable building in the middle of the road. Germans were not allowed through here (East Germans and West Germans), foreigners and military only. To the side are street vendors selling flags and junk.
Filmed by somebody while driving through East Berlin. towards the end of the video, from 7:25 to 8:40 is one of the very few vews of the East German border station plainly called (Friedrichstrasse) seen from the east and as they drive through. The movie was taken after the DDR let down their borders, at the time of filming are proceeding to disband and re-unify Germany. 7:47, the white-green car was a police car. The Allied checkpoint was still operational and checking people coming in to West Berlin, and was obviously skipped out when they pulled up and showed their I.D.
East Berlin at this time is plain and characterised by massive blocks of apartment buildings and monument-like structures (ex. the TV Tower, that spire with a ball on it)
I read about East/West Berlin, the Wall and the border checkpoints and all that, and tried to incorporate some of it into my fiction stories. In the one I',m doing now, there would be a Checkpoint Charlie-like place at the entrance of the sunreavers sanctuary in Dalaran.

lololol I have 6500 and I can run sc2. 😀
I love how you went from SC2 to literally the Berlin Blockade. o_o
ya couldn’t think of much else to come up with
My GTS 250 runs SC2 quite well. o_o
I always dread driver updates though.
GANZICUS STRIKES AGAIN!
My wonky 1368×766 resolution card runs it just fine…hell I’m amazed half the stuff I run works at all with it.
Piece of garbage graphics card on this laptop
If you looked at my games list, you’d think I’d be obsessed with Starcraft. Strangely enough, I’m not. Played it once, and it didn’t do much for much.
lool I’m too lazy to buy SC2. I’ll just go rip it off of my guy friends that bought it.
My computer probably won’t be able to handle it anyway. I only have like 2 friends who have graphic cards good enough for it :3
Too poor to buy it. Doubt I could run it anyway.
Halo Wars> SC2 and 1 imo
