Frigging people. I was on the bus this morning and its a typical morning:
I wake up at 5am, scramble to find my phone and kill the alarm before it wakes my aunt up (she sleeps upstairs directly above my room). I lie in bed till 5:30 then rush to stuff my bag then am out the door walking to the bus stop.
I get on the bus and am still half asleep.
The bus:
Has no rear doors.
cramped seats
sick people
It’s the bus that’s used to take people from the suburbs to the Skytrain in Richmond.
I sit halfway in the back, and before the bus pulls into the station, I walk up to the front before everyone else gets up. Bus pulls up, I get off, and run up 2 flights of stairs to the platform and jump on the train. Train gets me to the Seabus (passenger ferry) and I go accross the harbor to a place called Lonsdale Quay and catch a bus to school.
Never occured to me that it was an offense to walk up to the front of the bus before others get up. i wasnt shoving people out of the way, i just wanted to catch that train (or i’d miss the seabus and wait half hour for my bus after waiting 15 minutes for the seabus) and be late for class, and today I had an exam.
To me it’s like “no one’s gotten up yet, quickly make for the front. They’re not in a hurry, I am, but am too self conscious to sit up in the front ‘courtesy section’.
So I book it up to the platform today and this arrogant snot of a woman gets in my face and she’s all like “YOU’RE RUDE!! STOP BEING SO RUDE!”
at first it thought she was mad because I ran past her trying to get to the train (it was late today),
them, trying to be a decent human being, asked her why she was mad, and she’s all fucking short with me, that little snotbucket; she’s all like “I’m not talking about it. It’s too early.”
That’s when I flipped on her. I didn’t shout or swear at her, but it went a little something like this:
And I stopped talking to her after and went to the other end of the train. I thought
I was really shocked not at her being a fucking stuck up moron, but at the fact that i got so mad at her so quickly. My mind’s like Yellowstone- it’s all fine on the outside, but there’s a shit ton of explosive magma raging below.
I guess i overreacted to the fact I think people rip on me even for good reasons just to get a power trip out of making me feel bad. I guess that’s what made me snap on her. Like, if someone genuinly things i’m out of line for whatever reason and calls me out on it, I probably deserve it, but even when calling people out on their ways, it’s best done politelty, not by going all snap mode on the person, because they wont know why you’re talking to them, and they’ll just tell you to go fuck yourself. If the person isn’t directly being rude to people, and being indirectly rude doesn’t occur to them, call them out and be like:
Still annoying but less annoying. I don’t call people out, not unless it directly bothers me (like if somebody sat next to me and shat their pants). I’m too lazy and just prefer to go away myself. i’m not a confrontation person, as shown above.

Well handled, sir.
First thing I thought when I saw the bus and title was: you said something about how the bus design sucks?
you call that a bus?

Look at it’s grace as it smashes into that life-threating Quebec pothole.
TTC buses are just flatout stupid.
vancouver’s got alot of the buses like the ones in Quebec and the TTC. they’re called Nova buses. even the drivers hate them, the driver’s seet is too far forward and drivers hurt their necks looking back at the door to see people getting on
