Firstly, my last blog post is purely coincidental and have nothing to do with the QoTW released a couple of hours after I post mine.
Anyways, back to the topic.
Dumbest Move Ever In A Conversation
You know when you started a topic in a conversation with a friend (or friends) and it suddenly turns into…
STARING CONTEST
……
……
Not that that really happened though.
Truth is, it actually happened to me.
I was sitting on the chair in an office cubicle. My friend’s head popped up from the other side of the cubicle divider.
Just when I was starting a topic, my mind just went…
BLANK
That’s when the staring contest happened.
……….
My friend bursts into laughter.
And for a moment, I wonder what was going on… And “OH!” came out of my mouth.
To readers: go ahead and laugh before continuing. I’ll wait.
…
OK, let me continue.
NO, I wasn’t taking drugs last night. OK, I did take some anti-itch prescription before I slept. Its label clearly read: May cause dizziness.
It’s like my face just landed face-first in a writers’ block. Just like an owl hitting a glass door.
I feel weird sometimes, really. Every time I try to start a conversation, I keep coming to a stop. Most of the time, it’s because of someone interrupting. Or something happened, like a kettle’s whistle.
But, no. Just a full stop in my words.
The reaction?
Most often, people would find me weird and walk away.
Sometimes, it got me into trouble.
But this time. Just this one time. Someone laughed at my unofficial staring contest.
Anyways, the good thing is: I can start talking to him again after 10 minutes of laughter.

This is the second time I’ve entered this QoTW. Please support me, no matter how “unique” my blog seems like. 🙂
