it’s been about a year and some change since my last post, and clearly I didn’t manage to guilt-trip any of you hooligans into writing a post since then either.
Sad.
Anyway, my 33rd Birthday just passed (America’s 250th as well, but who’s counting) so I am well on my way, climbing the leaderboards. I can really feel the effects of age, injuries last longer, and I’m just getting random sprouts of pain outta nowhere

Phew okay now that that’s outta the way, let’s move on to some happenings!
Honestly last year has been fairly uneventful other than finding out my wife was pregnant last September. We didn’t really explicitly try to have a kid but it was sorta “yeah our parents are kinda pressuring us so might as well” kind of a situation y’know? The curse of being only children in the family 🙁
After that we kind of laid fairly low except for my work conference in Vegas, which turned into a holiday on the Big Island in Hawaii (we had some credit card reward nights to splurge and this was the most expensive option that still worked so).
Hawaii was pretty fun! We saw the fishes, the sea turtles, the various types of beaches, and the weather was quite nice I have to say. 10/10 would recommend. Only regret was not seeing the volcano erupt (it did actually erupt a week after we left, but it also got hit by 2 hurricanes so thank god we weren’t there for that)

Then it was about the time for the baby to arrive. He was due on the 6th of June, 2026 (6/6/26 
) but he decided to not inherit the title of Beelzebub and came a few days early on June 1st.
I will say I knew parenthood and especially newborns was difficult but we weren’t really ready for just how difficult. Even with double duty help from both my mom and her parents it was still a complete clusterfuck of poop, sleep deprivation, and short tempers.
He wasn’t adapting too great at the start but it’s about a month in and he’s finally maybe hitting his stride, or not, I dunno, I’m too sleep deprived to tell.
and yeah here we are, halfway into 2026 with another half to go. I will say this current US administration makes it feel like it’s been 4 years already.
