This is probably going to be another compilation of sorts:
Dark Souls 2
I never played the first Dark Souls but so far I really enjoy Dark Souls 2. I just got into NG+ and it’s really pretty tough. I’ve been streaming it a bit to my 2-4 viewers along with League of Legends and it’s become a pretty fun experience for me. It’s nice to not have to worry so much about class for a couple of months.
Got a second job
I work at an art museum. I don’t do art. I’m not very good at most art. I can draw a little but that’s about it. Recently, I got a job at a lab(!) I am going to be studying whether or not salinity tolerance is genetic in copepods. We have isolated a few candidate genes that seem to be upregulated when put under stress. We’re just not sure if it’s on the regulatory or genetic level. So…that’s pretty neat. I’m basically going to be the PCR grunt since I’m the only (new) one who has any experience with it but it’s definitely a resum頢uffer.
I’m conflicted
I dated that Mormon chick for the longest time. Nass spoke to me about it. Since he’s Mormon. If I recall correctly. Anyway, I was in the process of entertaining the religion when my good friend from high school was Mormon left for his mission. 2 years to Alaska. Since then I’ve broken it off with the Mormon girl (his sister) and become engaged to another person and decided Mormonism isn’t for me. I know my good friend who is a really wonderful guy wanted me to convert and I just never did. I’m really hesitant to see him since he’s back. I really care for the guy and I want to continue being friends but I dunno how to break it to him. Just hoping he understands.
League of Legends
Finally got gold 😀 I’m pretty excited about that.
Books, books, books
Read 2 within the last couple days:
Stardust by Neil Gaiman – it’s brilliant. That’s a given and I’m super impressed with the movie adaption as well. Overall a really wonderful writer and I recommend it strongly.
Grass by Sheri Tepper – was recommended by a friend of the family. It really is very good too. It’s a really compelling take on a not-so-often utilized ecosystem. (Plains) And people pretty-often forget that the setting of a novel can be just as compelling as characterization and the like. That’s why high fantasy tends to stray towards tedious description. It’s written for the imagery compelled audience.
Anyways, just thought I’d chat. Hope you guys are all doing well and I’m glad some of you are still around. Thanks for your time if you read it.
EDIT: Holy f&^* It’s been 5 years since I joined this site.
One Comment
i don’t blame ya. Being a Mormon didn’t last for me haha
He should understand though, most people I knew from church did. Although it’d come up sometimes in convo on the rare occasions I talk to them, since most of the people I knew ended up as missionaries, it’s kind of their thing y’know?
Congrats on the engagement!
