Fate- Chapter 2

Ruairi sat in the room, waiting for Morgant to return. He seemed like he wanted to get out as soon as possible. Triona entered the room, carrying a plate of food. She held it towards him.

"Ruairi?" she asked, seeing if he was awake. She placed the plate in front of him. "Here, I brought you something to eat… I made it."
He took one glance before looking away. "I don't want any. How can you expect me to eat the food of the Fomors?"
"…I made it so you could eat it," she explained. "You should at least eat something…"

Annoyed, Ruairi stood up.

"Why don't you mind your own business?!" he shouted. "Leave me alone!" Triona was frightened.
"Pl-please don't get mad…" Her voice was shaky, as though she was going to cry. "I-I was just… worried about you… I thought you should eat something…"

Ruairi stared, as though he thought it was just an act the girl put up. He didn't feel guilty one bit.

"I'm human and you're a Fomor! Don't try to get too close to me." Triona closed her eyes and lowered her head.
"I… I see… I'm sorry… to bother you…"
"…A friend once told me this. Humans and Fomors… Although they show kindness to one another, it is impossible for them to see eye to eye." She raised her head and opened her eyes.
"Do… Do you believe that st-story as well…? I just… wanted to help you…"

Ruairi was silent. He didn't want to make any connections to the girl. But…

"Don't try to get too close to me," he repeated. "As soon as I thank Morgant, I have no other business here." Triona lowered her head and closed her eyes. She was trying to say something.
"Do you hate me… because I'm a Fomor?" she asked. "But… Fomors hate me too… Humans hate me as well… I don't know where I belong…" Tears formed at the corners of her eyes. "I just thought you would understand and appreciate this… I didn't think you would hate me like others would… I… really put a lot of effort into taking care of you… But… But… I guess it was just a dream…"

Ruairi stared at the crying girl. He crossed his arms against his chest and closed his eyes.

"…Whatever," he grumbled.

Ruairi had his back facing the entrance to the room. He really didn't want to look Triona in the eye right now.

"Ruairi… Morgant is here," Triona informed as she entered the room.
"Triona, you stay outside," a voice said, though it sounded vaguely familiar.

Ruairi turned. His eyes widened as he faced his rescuer. He was the one that had struck Ruairi and his companions in Tir Na Nog. The one that killed Mari and Tarlach. Morgant was the Dark Lord.

"You!" Ruairi yelled. He was filled with anger. "I'm going to kill you!"

He ran up to Morgant and threw a punch. He was still weak though. Morgant easily blocked the attack and pushed Ruairi back.

"Enough!" Morgant announced. "Ruairi! Don't give me the ultimate disgrace of fighting a human who can't even take care of himself right now. If you want, we can fight later! But now is not the time!"

Ruairi wasn't prepared to drop his guard. "Morrighan's puppet! What do you want from me! Why did you keep me alive!"
Morgant chuckled. "I like your attitude. I like how you get straight to the point."
"Then stop beating around the bush! Why did you save me!"

"Let's just say that there was something different about you that interested me," Morgant said. "How you tried to forfeit your life at the last moment to save the young girl. Though you could've been the Lord of the area if you wanted to, but you gave it to your younger brother and chose the life of a warrior instead…"

Ruairi had dropped his guard and calmed down at that moment

"What, you've been doing background checks on me?" he asked. "…I don't know what to make of that."
"Since you seem to be so considerate of me, why don't we change the subject?" Morgant asked. "How about… the people around you?"

Ruairi didn't seem to have any idea what he meant.

"…Did you know you brother became the Lord…?"

That had caught him off guard. "…I see… Is that right? It's be a long time… That doesn't surprise me…" He instantly realized something. "Wait, my father! Did…my father pass away…?"

"Humans can't life forever," Morgant explained. "Humans can't help but destroy each other and bring themselves down…" That had confused Ruairi.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked.
"Ruairi… You father was murdered. That's how Rian was chosen to become the new Lord."
"What? Who did it!"
"It was Esras. The prime minister of Emain Macha, Esras the Druid."

"Wh-What?" Ruairi asked. He remembered Esras, how she took care of them when they were young and her kindess to them. "There's no way… That can't be! Esras is not like that!"

"You misjudged her. Happens all the time. Even if you were right about her before, humans… always seem to change. You should know. Esras currently holds all of Emain Macha in her hand. Rian is simply her puppet to control as she pleases."
"…What, how could this be…?"
"The more power humans get a hold of," Morgant explained, "the more they want. Face it. That's why there's a term called human nature. Esras is no exception."
"No…. It…can't be…"
"You're in denial… That's the reason why I think highly of you, but… I think I told you too much for one day. If you've already given up the Lordship, then don't dwell on it. Esras wouldn't want that either."

That comment enraged him. He raised his head. "Shut up!" He ran to the Dark Lord and attempted another attack. Again, Morgant easily blocks the attack and pushes him back.

"I can't believe you just said that!" Ruairi shouted. Morgant gave all these mixed comments on Esras. How can he believe any of it?

"I applaud your courage," Morgant said, "but I can tell that your body has grown very weak. Rest for now. I'll be back later."

He turns to leave. On his way out, he stops.

"If you try to leave this place… I can't guarantee your safety."

All I’m really doing is taking scenes from the game and make it interesting. The dialogue is pretty much word for word, though some parts I edited as people would get bored of constant “…” right?
