Originally, I started QoTW to provide ideas to blog about. I knew that without a massive site like BM to push VuT like Bogdan did with MMOT that the site would be slow. Back in 2009-10 it felt that most QoTWs got at least a handful of responses.
I’ve been adding new QoTWs since the start of V3. QoTWs now get their own page and a big reminder every Sunday yet not much happens. Greenelf noticed last week that I forgot to add more QoTWs, I quickly changed last week’s QoTW to a free week. You could tag any new blog as a QoTW blog and I would have accepted it. Last week there wasn’t a single QoTW. There have actually been only 6 blogs in the last 7 days.
I mentioned in last week’s QoTW that nobody reads them. Well, one person did. At least that’s something.
I don’t mean to sound angry, I’m one of the last people to go to for making new blogs. But it is nonetheless upsetting to see just how inactive the site has became.
If I brought back achievements and gave them out for:
Winning QoTWs Suggesting QoTWs that get used later Referring new members (?)Would that get anything going? What more can I do?
I think referring new members would help a lot. The main problem with this site is that nobody really knows about it, except a few people. I only stumbled across it because I had it bookmarked on my old PC. If I think of any ideas, I’ll post them
You need new members if anything. A site can’t survive without constantly getting new viewership no matter how close or loyal its current members are. Also greater focus would help. MMOT had a really good focus on MMOs and developed a strong literary tradition. Even if you do nothing else, bringing in some new blood will generate some activity.

Probably still am.I’ve kinda hit a stump with blogs recently, my life just isn’t interesting right now lol. As for QoTW, I pretty much only answer the ones I actually have something to say. A lot of the time, I have a QoTW blog sitting there, with one line that says: “Yeah,sometimes I throw pens at people when I’m bored in class.”
Then I just delete it in rage & tears and swear I’ll jump in on the next QoTW,then the cycle just repeats itself.Edit: Oh yeah, and I’m considered ways to get some flow here and one suggestion is, y’know if people are up for the labor & still into this shit, to get VuMS up and running again.
Another is to advertise, but I’m not really good at anything other than making videos sorta, and I don’t think my “discovery” (I think that’s what they call it) on StumbleUpon made much of an impact.
Basically what Nass said, my life ain’t that interesting right now. It’s summer, nothing going on. Besides my life ain’t that interesting when it’s not summer. So bleh
I was thinking of advertising. Just seems… improbable. It’s hard to sell VuTales in a banner. The only thing VuTales has going for it is the community, otherwise you might as well go to tumblr.

I suppose it is kind of disappointing if I’m the usual blogger here (considering most of you probably didn’t recognize me for a significant time).
We have to go do something… weird. While I like this community and site (and will continue to monitor it), it doesn’t provide much outside the generic blogging site controls. If we could, I don’t know, incorporate childish games or some other intriguing add-on to the site, maybe that will draw in some more people.
With such functions such as twitter and what have you, blogging collectively has become increasing difficult to field. Gotta think outside the blog to counterbalance that flux.

Most everyone came from Basil at one point.
I went to basil only for auctions, and still go sometimes to look at guides when I revisit maplestory. That is about it. I never gave a shit or understood how their community is.
