So for my Individuals and Families in Society class, we have a project where we present a song+music video to the class that deals with a pressing teen issue. The example the teacher did was the song “Jeremy” by Pearl Jam (Its abou a boy who commit suicide in front of his class.
So basically, I have some song ideas, but not very many. I was hoping you VuTalers (boy that sounds funny to say) could help me by just naming a few songs that have to do with problems teens and young adults face.
Ideas I had were: Untitled – Simple Plan (About Drunk driving) Nothing to lose – Billy Talent (Teen Suicide) Runaway Love – Ludacris/Mary J Blige (Um..running away? lol) Numb – Linkin Park
Also, if you guys could stay away from songs about war and such. It hasto be a social issue that is prominent in TEENS! 🙂
Analog Boy – Lots. It talks about how society slams certain images down our throats, like the perfect woman. At the same time, it talks about how modern society is impacting children.
Sell You Beautiful – I think you can guess what it’s about from the title. Similar to the first half of Analog Boy. The perception of the perfect girl/woman.
Get – Materialism. Living our lives for clothes, drugs, money, etc.
There are lots more, just go through a few of their albums.
Daft Punk’s Prime Time of Your Life also talks about that perfect girl and anorexia. It’s got a very powerful video, as well.
