ParticipantIt’s so irritating when your window of happiness stares into the valley of unhappiness. Nothing that I do seem to cheer me up or be beneficial to me. I can seldom play games anymore. My sleep torments me in my sleep. My parents irritate me more than a sunburn-rash-big-bite-3rd-degree-burn. School is ungodly torture. I’ve virtually lost all of my outlets of emotion. Got any tips? (P.S. Taking a walk alone for an hour or so does help, but it doesn’t help that much because there’s not much of an outlet there)

ParticipantFind a thing. For some people it’s singing, others it’s writing, some do sports. Find something that you can invest energy in. And then make it your thing.

ParticipantI found stuff to do. They’re just not parent-approved (no matter how legal they are).

ParticipantLol what stuff can your parents disapprove of, hohumm??
Make Vutales your outlet of emotion and do some rants. It takes a lot of stress off very nicely. :3 I find all my anger and stress dissipating about three quarters through a typical scream rant so my writing becomes considerably calmer… But there you go, it works.
Plus, I find them fun to read.

ParticipantMy parents disapproves of EVERYTHING I do. Playing video games. Going on the computer (even if to do homework). Doing homework (okay, that’s partially my fault). Going outside. Not going outside. You name it, they’ll hate it.

ParticipantIt’s time to go STFU in their face–
No, don’t do that. Lol. You tried talking to them about it or are they the type to ignore you and think that they are absolutely infallible?

ParticipantI usually feel bad and feel like I don’t accomplish anything if I don’t at least do something productive. Perhaps you should read some books, when you eventually get used to it, reading provides more imaginative stimulus than either TV or other things, and your parents probably won’t complain about you reading. You could also read I am Legend (it’s an actual book). I had fun reading it, I recommend it.
As for being happy, you have to find what makes you happy, everyone has different ranges of what they consider that makes them happy.

ParticipantHah, my parents disapproves me of reading too! (Maybe I shouldn’t read Halo books) Even textbooks. I dunno, they just seemed pissed about everything I am.
They just blame me for everything.

ParticipantAs long as you don’t do drugs and stuff like that, it’s okay. Go do whatever you want. Don’t let your parents stop you from doing stuff every teenager is supposed to do. (I don’t mean killing people, joining gangs, and stuff like that.)

ParticipantI reject your reality and substitute some C4!

ParticipantThen what in god’s name do they approve of. Did you ask?
5 October 2009 at 20:07 #16806Quang
ParticipantWow why are your parents so restrictive >_>
