Die2Nite? More like *****2Nite…

Some of you might have seen advertisments for “Die2Nite”, a Zombie MMO that’s suppose to be “Real”. It’s a text based MMO like Zork Legends and all that, and at first I was giddy, but then I came to relize just how bad this game was.

In truth, it’s not the game itself, the game has potential. It’s the players.

The people.

All they do is bitch bitch bitch!
The game runs on real time too, and once you complete everything for a day (which takes like, 15 minutes…) you then just go off for something else for 23 hours. Though it’s probably good to be on during the attack. Everyday, zombies attack the town where everyone must “work together” as they said, to keep it defended and alive.
Die2Nite gets its name by the fact you will die. It’s a “How long can a group of 30 players work together to live.” When you die, restart. Sounds like ffuuuuunnnn.

So here was my time playing.

I log in.
“Yay! I am a Guardian!”
I upgrade my house to a Tent.

I go out, i scavange for items for a while and come back. “Yay! I have found… 2 wooden planks, a plastic bag, and uhhh… nothing else.” I did scavanging wrong I believe.
So… i use 1 wood to upgrade my house to a Hovel! OH NOES! Apparantly, that wasn’t kosher with others.
Me, doing my own thing. I built the hovel, and put curtains on so people can’t see what’s in my chest so they can steal from me.

A thread comes up on the board. It reads this.

Would Grimno like to place all his defensive items inside the bank? His home has 6 points of defense, he’s probably just trying to get the last man standing achievement. If he’s not then he would have no problem with placing them in the bank for the town

Then he relized I was a Guardian, and have no defensive items.
Another person said I was building a Barracks or something and called me a noob.

Oh oh oh. And I got a complaint cause I was being ‘Selffish” for keeping a battery i also found, and a wooden plank. Oh and for upgrading my own house. 8 Complaints and the town kicks you out. Yay…

So i have to pretty much be led on a leash, giving everything I have to the town. If you take any items out of the bank for personnel use.. they bitch about it.
I’m pretty sure if you took out medical supplies to heal yourself so you don’t become infected and die, they’ll complain against you for being selfish.

The game is litterally.
“Hello world. How is it i’m going to spend my life today against my choosing?”
You have NO free will in this game. Everyone else wants to boss you around, telling you how to spend your action points, use your resources, and everything.
“Use your AP to help build the workshop!”
No YOU use your AP to help build the workshop!!

Then this guy, stole from another player. Said in horrible wording

“I onyl steal when noobs take materials from banK!!
And maybe when they take defenses in their home!!
BEWARE if you do this i will ROB you!

We need to shun David33, he’s obviously just trying to sabotage the town. Can everyone submit a complaint?

Semordnilap Selfish play, he just took a wooden plank from the bank and built a hovel! Unless he gives us a good reason, we should shun him!

On another note the hero Grimo (WHY DOES EVERYONE GET MY NAME WRONG?!) is hiding two twisted planks in his home, hidden by the curtains. (This means… you had to break into my house… to see it….)

So you know what I did? I said **** the system, went to the citizen list, found a guy who was out of town, went to his house, busted in through the window and stole his cream cake.
I stole his creamcake and it was successful, noone knew.

I was sooo happy. I felt like I just backhanded everyone.

So yeah… unless you want to be commanded like a dog. Play Die2Nite.
If you relize how crappy this game is, don’t play it.

Maybe in the end I just got a crappy group, who knows?
