Warning Signs [Chapter 2]

Beatrix froze. “What?!” She yelled at Mike, who was still staring and pointing at her.
“Mon Dieux! It’s a beard!” Remi joined Mike in the pointing. Beatrix raised her hands to her face, but Mike made a awkward noise of caution. “Don’t touch it! I think it’s speaking to us!” He advised, moving closer to her. Beatrix sagged her shoulders and groaned. “Not cool.” She said, sending Remi and Mike into a fit of laughter. “Gotcha!” They yelled. Beatrix grabbed a pillow and threw it at the boys. Her throw wasn’t strong, but the pillow collided with Mike’s face. Remi laughed even harder. And the three of them went to war with each other.
“Alice!” Remi wailed, getting pounded on by Beatrix and Mike. “Help!”
Beatrix looked over into the corner of the room. Alice stared at the group with a always confused face. “I’m not ruining my nails!” She complained.
“We’ve been in the car all day!” Beatrix said, grabbing an extra pillow. “They’re messed up already!” She tossed the pillow playfully at Alice.
The pillow landed with a thud at Alice’s feet. The group stopped playing and stared at her. “What did I just finish saying!” Alice screamed at Beatrix.
Mike raised his hand. “You said you’d really like to play.” He high fived Remi. Alice shot them a glance of disgust, and stormed out the room.
Remi, seeing her mad, got up and ran after her. Beatrix started to follow but Mike grabbed her hand. His face darkened with concern.

Later that evening, Alice and Rem returned. Hand in hand. And sat on the couch together. Beatrix was in the kitchen, looking for things to cook.
Mike sat patiently at the table. Like a dog waiting for it’s bowl of food. “How much longer?” He asked. Beatrix sighed. “Mike, I didn’t even start yet. Be patient.”
Mike, hearing the bad news placed his head on the table and made exaggerating suffering noises. Beatrix moved over to him and gently kissed his forehead, calming him down. “10 mins okay dear?” She said in her best housewife voice. Mike groaned as a response, so Beatrix got back to work.

Suddenly there was a knock at the front door. “Anyone here?” Asked a voice. Remi got up a pulled it open. There stood another teenager, probably Beatrix’s age. He had a case of beer in his hand. “This Dan?” He asked, eying Remi. “No.” Remi replied, letting him in. “I thought he was gonna be here already.”
The young man put down the beer case and dusted himself off. “Me too. Party’s starting in a half hour.” He informed the rest. “I’m Adam Gyfford, from uh, St. Marie High.” He shook Remi’s hand. He glanced around the room, nodded his hello to each. His eyes finally landed on Beatrix.
“Beatrix?” He asked. “Beatrix Bell?” He walked closer to her. “Remember me? I was in your Elementary school. That guy who lik-“
“Yes I remember!” Beatrix said, cutting him off. “How are you?”
Adam shrugged. “Oh you know, not easy being me.”
Suddenly the group heard tires screeching outside. “It’s party time!” Mike said scrambling up and grabbing Remi and Adam with him.

Just an short hour later, the partying was in full force. Teens flooded the house. Every room, every hallway. Everyplace had at least one person in it.
Beatrix shoved her way through the crowd. She finally found Mike and Remi surrounded by other boys. They were drinking beers, but not in any fashion Beatrix had seen. “Chug! Chug! Chug!” The crowd chanted. Mike and Remi tipped back their beers into their mouthes. Swallowing as much as they could. When they finished one bottle, they grabbed another.
After the 4th one, Remi sank to his knees, coughing. “No more!” He wailed, wiping his mouth. Mike raised his hands in victory. “I win!” He yelled, before helping Remi to his feet. Beatrix went to join them. “Nice run.” She said to Mike.
“Thanks babe. I think Remi here over did it.” He laughed and patted Remi’s head.

After they put Remi on a chair to rest, Mike took Beatrix outside into the crisp night air. “Having fun?” He asked, wrapping his arm around her.
“Yeah.” Beatrix nodded. “It’s really cool around here.”
Mike stopped walking and turned to her. “Told you it’s gonna be outta hand.” He raised her chin with his hand. And gently began kissing her on the lips. Beatrix slowly wrapped her arms around Mike’s body. This is exactly what she wanted, not some random house party.

“Hey lover birds!”
Mike broke the kiss, and looked back at the house. Remi and Alice came towards them. Lipstick was smeared all over Remi’s face. “How about we have a foursome?”
“Hell to the yes!” Mike said patting his friend on the back. “You’re alive!”
Remi gasped. “Why lookie here?! I guess I am ain’t I?” The group laughed.
The music coming from the house changed and Alice suddenly jumped up. “Oh! I love this song! We gotta dance guys!” She grabbed Beatrix’s hand and pulled her towards the house.
Surprised, Beatrix followed limply.
“When did they become girlfriends?” Remi asked Mike, who shrugged.
“She’s drunk. Anyone is her friend.” He replied.
Remi playfully shoved Mike towards the house. “Sure.” He laughed.

“You know you interrupted my make out time with Beatrix?” Mike informed Remi when they got inside. “I’m trying to get some poontang here man!”
Remi laughed. “My bad bro.”
Mike swung his arm around his best friend’s shoulder. “She’s still a virgin.” He said quietly. Remi gasped. “Vraiment?” He asked.
“Yeah. Don’t tell anyone but…the whole point of this trip was to get her under the sheets.”
Remi spoke slowly. “Wow..I wonder if Alice is a virgin…?”
Mike sighed. “You don’t even know if your girlfriend is a virgin?” Remi shrugged.
“I wonder where they are anyway?” Mike asked as they turned into another room.
Remi stopped walking and gasped. “Holy crap! Alice?!”
Mike looked forward too. “What the hell is going on in here?”
