Max Update – 2015/06/21

Hey guys! Long time no see!

So I was writing my travel blog and I randomly thought about VuTales. Out of curiosity, I googled “vutales” and uhh.. yeah, I’m glad that VuTales is still the same as I remembered: quiet, but still alive.

Reading my last post from a year and a half ago was definitely hilarious because right now, I’m having the time of my life. To summarize, my posts during that time of my life were basically the rant/thoughts of a typical insecure college student trying to figure himself out.

Not saying that I’ve gotten everything figure out now, but at least I’m having the best time of my life right now!

So yeah, I want to update on you guys on what I’ve been up to since my last blog post in Dec 2013. I might go off-topic on some stuff so bare with me lol

The time when I wrote my last post, I was on a HUGE ego trip. I got flown out twice to Europe to compete in dance and I was known in the street dance scene in New York, Boston, Taiwan, and Canada. I got more and more successful in dance, I also became more and more of a dick.

To name a couple of stuff on the top of my head..

I would be really cocky when the subject of dance was brought up
I talked down to those who don’t do any forms of freestyle dance
I would get really easily pissed off if things didn’t go my way
I would talk down about somebody to make myself look better

It’s funny because now I realize that my last post was me venting out my insecurities.. the insecurities that I didn’t feel comfortable sharing with the people around me. Which is why I felt lonely, even though I wasn’t alone.

My apartment was in a very convenient location, there’s always people coming over to chill at my living room, my roommates are also dope dancers, I had the biggest room, and I slept with a different girl every weekend between October and December.

A year later, I moved a little bit further out of Boston with a high school friend. However, I technically lived by myself because my high school friend is a medical student so she’s always studying at the medical school campus.

This time, even though I was mostly alone, I wasn’t lonely. This was because everyone from my immediate group of friends disbanded. Two of them graduated and moved back to New York, two of them broke up because she cheated on him, another two broke up (dunno why, never asked), and four of them moved to another part of Boston. It wasn’t as easy as it was before to hang out with friends. Whenever I did hang out with those friends, the vibe was very different. I felt like that they were not being themselves when I’m around. So I assume that they formed their own new group and I just stopped hanging out with them all together.

As a result, I spent most of my time doing my own things and figuring myself out.

To list the shit I wanted to share with you guys:

1. I got my undergraduate degree (major in environmental science and minor in chemistry)

2. I went on TV in Taiwan

3. I danced in a music video (you can see me at 0:01 and 3:51)

4. I couched surfed around North America for a month

5. Started a travel blog featuring myself because of that

6. Entered two competitions in Montreal (yes, I battled the same girl at two different events)

7. Currently backpacking Europe (writing this in Barcelona)

I actually have a shit ton more to share, but those are the highlights for now.

So what about you guys?

I stopped using Skype so I disconnected a while ago. But tell me about yourself! I would love to know what you guys been up to!
